    Stance

I am with chuck on this one , (12" wide wheels always look good) , but I also like the look of my 14" wide wheels on my blazer. I am not into the tall skinny look.

    Steering stabilizer

That looks like the kit that has the axle mount in the middle and the shocks go down the tie rod towards each end , (totally cool look in my book) , shoot a pic out .

    Steering stabilizer

I like them because they look cool and two look better than one , IMO. Easy to install , bolt to the tab on the axle housing , make sure the shock is centered and clamp it to the tie rod or some tie rods already have the hole. Check your frame closely for crack's being that it's been...

    Help with my 400 build

What do you want to do with your truck , daily driver , street cruzer from town to town with good power or week end drag machine. First off vortec heads are great but they are only good for up to .500 lift cam's with out modd's . They work well for a good street machine but for any real power...

My dad's '79 GMC K15 towing woes (long)

Crate motor blue's , I hear alot of these stories , I have seen gm's 260 hp motor's with the piston's so far down in the hole that they would be lucky to be 8 to 1 with 76cc heads , ( more like 7.8), no quality control. Glad you got it worked out , now you know next time to build your own. It's...

Exhaust routing? What did you do?

Here is a pic of my wheels , they are that back space so I can clear the brakes with a 8 lug axle's and still run 15's I just got done mounting these babies by hand , not fun.

Exhaust routing? What did you do?

Nope , those are 15x14 bart wheels , 3 1/2 back space , 8 lug , Its all in the wheel. And its not a dually axle.

    Shock Recomendations

I like rancho 9000's , get your lift on first , use a tape , go to the rancho book and pick your shock length. I run bilstein shocks on my late model trucks and like them as well.

Exhaust routing? What did you do?

I personally like the sound bouncing off the pavement way better than free air set up. I always go over the back axle and 45 the tips to the side and 45 them out the back , (sounds good , looks good). On my blazer it was a little harder because of the tank, ( had to change the angle's a bit).

    Plastic cannister next to radiator

I chunked the vap. can and ran the tank vent to a tee with my front axle vent tube all the way up to the hood , behind the driver's headlight . I hid the tee down in the frame rail and I passed smog in cali with no sticker , 6700 gvw tag on the door jam , assumed a federal truck.

    Best fitting big block headers?

I have always ran doug thorley's , and they are the shit in my book , but they are not cheap. Anyway I did'nt want to spend that much for header's for the off road blazer I am putting together so I went with heddman elite , coated header's , 360.00.They are super thick , (like thorley's) and...

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

At what speeds ? Your shake sounds pretty bad , maybe you should have a friend watch you drive by and maybe he will be able to see something. I have had vibrations after lift's but what you have going on sounds different. Do you have a 208 case ? if so you should drop that as well. Your rear...

    10 and 12 bolt interchangability?

If memory serves , I think the 10 bolt is longer from the axle centerline to the yoke than the 12 bolt , so you may have to have a shorter driveshaft ,( but I think its only an inch or so ) and I think the joints are both the 1350 style but not a 100% , I am a full float guy so I dont mess with...

    Radiator Question

I have always had my 4 rows rebuilt , but I have never bought an aftermarket one and I have heard that as well. Some other's will chime in on this and maybe know more.

    Tire Advice

I will stop by his shop and ask him about it , but thats what he told me , anyway my 4.88 rear is way hotter than my 4.11 truck after a hwy run for sure.

    Tire Advice

The pinion becomes smaller in diameter with lower gear's and it spins much faster no matter what tire size you have. Thats why in some rear ends you have to change the carrier or run a thicker ring gear for lower gear's because the pinion becomes smaller and spin's much faster in the oil. I had...

    Lets see your lifted trucks

Love it , here in cali , (shitty state) but 75 and under no smog , ( that's all I am interested in anymore). Anyway nice truck.

Need help.. Looking to buy torque converter.

First of all you don't need much higher stall than stock if you are gear'ed , but if not then you are thinking in the right range , (2500 to 2800). second , IMO I would never buy b&m or tci junk , I would go with turbo action or a continental converter , they are the shit. They make a high...

    Locker Shootout

I have never owned a truck with a 9.5" semi float nor would I but with that being said , All the 12 bolts I have sprayed all over the gound with big tire's and hp. I have had good luck with the moroso super brute with red springs , (limited slip but very tight). All the 10.5 full floats that I...

    Mufflers - need input/advice

Ohhh , it's possible , when all the packing is gone they sound like a destruction derby car. I just tried the moroso spiral flow's and they sound bad ass , but you have to like loud and deep . Have them on 2 1/2" pipe on a 400 mouse with heddman header's and I like them way better than...

    Thumpr cams

It's the old 327 , 350 hp. cam .222/.222 dur. , .447/.447 lift , 114 lsa. I built a 350 with that cam from speedpro with 186 heads 9.5 to 1 and it was pretty bad ass , but still no drag car idle , it was a pretty mild lope in a 350. It had a broad power range which some people like , good...

    Tire Advice

With that size tire I would not even waste the money on gear's for half ton stuff , I would jump up to 8 lug before anything. Another thing if you do a lot of freeway driving you need to be careful with low gear's. The pinion get's small with low gear's and it spins faster with low gear's and...

    Thumpr cams

Sweet , if a guy had that motor in his car or truck at a show next to another guy with a same hp. range motor with a different cam in it purring like a kitten who do you think is going to get all the attention. I would not bitch about a street friendly 412 horse 350 at all.
