86 K30 Engine swap with manual trans in place

I have always used a bushing so not sure on the bearing thing , but test fit whatever you use on your trans input shaft before you install it in the motor.

86 K30 Engine swap with manual trans in place

Exactly what george said and jack up the front of the trans a bit as well and I always ( with a manual ) pull the rear driveshaft and leave the trans in gear so you can turn the trans a bit to line up the splines of the input shaft with the clutch disc.

    16x10 steelies

Back in the day I ran 15x12 stockers with the dog dish caps on my 72 blazer with them painted the same color as the blazer with 33x12.50 tires and I loved the look. I got mine at stockton wheel , had them made , think they were series 20 Their number is 1-800-395-9433 or look them up on line

Solid axle camber after new balljoints

Yes , bottom nut first , then the castle sleeve , (what I call it) , threads into the housing ear where the ball joint stud is , on the top ear , then the top nut , then re check the bottom nut . nothing involving the spindle. You need to do it in that order .

    79 k20 fit 86 k10?

14 bolts , (as long as they are not 1 ton ) are the wide spring perches , and will bolt right in your k10. You will need u-bolts and to plates and a coversion joint for the driveshaft or have a new shaft made. You may have to play with the brake lines and e brake cable a bit because of the year...

Solid axle camber after new balljoints

Let me tell you how I do ball joints , (not saying right or wrong but its worked for me for years). Press in your new joints into the knuckel , then lift the knuckel to the housing and torque the lower nut to 70lbs , then torque the castle sleeve to 40lbs and then the top nut to 100lbs and...

    Exhaust ideas!?

To be honest george , 5 to 8lbs torque gain with a mild motor you are not going to notice when mashing the skinny petal , so I would not worry about pipe size , (unless we are talking about something else) anyway go for a sound that you like . I had a friend that owned an exhaust shop so I got...

    15X14 on 3/4 ton

Sorry , my computer fried so I have no pic's but I have 15x14 barts on my 8 lug blazer and what I did was grind the caliper and ran a 1/4 inch spacer , works great . As far as lift goes , with 33's you could get away with a 4" lift as long as you dont flex it out off road , if so I would think...

    Running a 4" lift and 37s??

Sorry , have no pic's of that combo , I am down with bigger lifts than 4's , I guess you could do it but major cutting would be a factor. You could go a body lift for cheap and make it happen.

remove leaves on 4" lift to make 2" lift with better ride?

Why don't you just go with super lift 2 inch springs from summit , 68.00 each . I myself am not a fan of super lift but for that price who care's , you would be good to go and if you don't like them down the road you could save up for good springs.

    Lifted 85 chevy

You will need to get a steering arm , extended brake lines , sway bar extension, (if you keep it) , I always throw mine in the trash , may have to mess with e-brake cables , may have to extend the front drivshaft , (some trucks yes , some trucks no) , and lower the t-case mount an inch or so...

    Dana 44 question

I have had a lot of 44's with big rubber and they have served me well. I would not want one for rock crawling or hauling ass over the whopp's out in the dessert though. All of my square's have 35's or bigger tire's and the only things that I have had happen is breaking axle joints , but not...

Long tube or short tube headers?

I really like the doug thorley tri y's , thick flange , thicker tubes than most , had and have them on a lot of square's , 0 problems. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. I just bought a set of heddman heavy duty , elite header's for my blazer to save a little money , (they are...

    dual shock option help

I have dual 9000's on 1 with a big block on the nose of my cc and it rides really well. My step side I sold had dual bilstiens , (soft valveing) on the front with skyjacker soft ride springs and a smallblock on the nose and it rode great as well.

    Which headers?

When it come's to exhaust you want it to be trouble free for years , so you get what you pay for . I would never run cheap headers. On all my square's I run thorley's and they are the shit , bolt them on and never look back.On my blazer I wanted to try and save a little so I went with the...

    Steering arm

I have never had to heat them either but I have had them take a while to get off . I always use pb blaster and hit the arm downward all over and from the side , cuss words seem to help to.:cheers::cheers:

    dual shock option help

I have that same factory dual mount set up on my crew cab and I think it looks cool , anyway I always buy my shocks by legnth not by application. I would just measure from bolt hole to bolt hole and order whatever shocks you need , (with the right ends of course). Another thing I would do is...

Deciding what lift I would like for my everyday driver

Thanks , its a lot of fun. I just put 38/14.50 toyo mt's on it , (just for cruzing around), and it drive's so nice down the highway it's crazy , I would daily drive it no problem. The gumbo mudders get a little freaky at 70mph.

    4" lift 15x12 wheels questions

You can get away with 33's on 12 wides with a 4" lift on a street truck , with some light off road , 35's , not going to happen with out some cutting.

Deciding what lift I would like for my everyday driver

I only run those tires when I am hitting the mud on the blazer , my street meats are 38" toyo mt's on 10 wides and the blazer drive's great down the highway at 70 + ,really smooth , totally nice , but yes it is a bit big for a daily driver , but I would , lol. I have pitched the sway bars on...

Deciding what lift I would like for my everyday driver

I am a 6" for daily driver and 8" and up for a weekend basher sort of guy. My girl's truck I built for her 16th birthday , 6" lift , 35's My blazer project 9" lift 40's

    Tire Size

35's on a 10" wide wheel will hit off road , 33's are a better size for a 4" lift imo. Out of my whole family the smallest lift on any of our square's is a 6" lift and here is my girls 78 with 35's on 10" wide wheels with a 6" lift.

    472 cadillac engine swap

Cool swap , but I dont think the tranny will bolt up ,(from memory) , you might want to check into it , I know there is a way to make it work though.Way back I had a wheeling buddy that had a 500 cad in his 74 square but I cant recall what the deal was but it got with the program , (I do...
