Looks like that O'Reilly's part is 2 piece. Just got to knock the studs out. The joys of inboarded rotors and drums.

First real drive! Not tragic but not good. I think I need carb advice.

1974 offered Custom, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne, and Cheyenne Super as trim levels, in ascending order of trim level. 1975 dropped Custom and Cheyenne Super, introduced Scottsdale and Silverado trims. 1975 offered Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, Cheyenne, and Silverado in ascending order of trim...

With the color on the infill of the badge, I'd guess 75-80 Scottsdale. The Cheyenne and Silverado badges use a different design and the custom deluxe are all black (as seen in the photo you shared above).

2005 Ram 2500 Free Spin Install & Other Goodies

Went to install the knuckle U joints, first one on the long axle shaft was fine, short (drivers side) shaft could get one ring in, couldn't even begin to see the other groove. Some measuring revealed the ears had sprung inward. Porta power with a short ram and lathe bit for a spacer spread it...

2005 Ram 2500 Free Spin Install & Other Goodies

Shane had decided to go with a new carrier, also new bearings and ring gear bolts. Will be transferring the spiders over. Some cast over the flat black base. Some flat black on the hubs to keep the rust away.

2005 Ram 2500 Free Spin Install & Other Goodies

Finally was able to make it back up to the shop Friday after work. Between the snow and me being under the weather, waiting for parts hadn't been up there since the last time we worked on the truck. My friend had taken the hard parts with him to his work and blasted everything. Used some...

    SM465 swap into 92 suburban.

Non synchro first isn’t an issue up shifting. Down shifting on the other hand is where the fun begins. Pretty much have to float it in. In the Advance Design (47.5-55.1) trucks I had played with in years prior I would always start in first (low if you want to call it that), but being a fairly...

Also have to watch for .webp files, as I’ve found you can’t upload them to the forum. A lot of photos from the net’ tend to be that file extension.

    1966 Ford Galaxie 500

What, you mean putting coil springs on top the upper control arms and having giant shock towers that all crack isn’t the way to do it?? And on the trucks the twin I bean and twin traction beam setups.

    1966 Ford Galaxie 500

Cool Galaxie. Trouble I have with them [Fords] is the full time job that is remembering all of the engine families. Flathead, Y-block, Lincoln flathead(337), Lincoln Y-block, MEL, FE, FT, small block, Windsor, Cleveland, 385, triton, mod motor, plenty of others I probably forgot. GM and...

With your press woes, some extreme pressure grease goes a long way on making press fits smooth, mitigates galling, etc. something like this: Doesn’t hurt if things feel really tight to run a little Emory cloth on the journals, just enough to make sure there are no dingleberries that might give...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Thought this was a fair deal, I know, I know, that’s a rotted out pos! But $600 for a complete K20 driveline that is a runner ain’t bad for someone looking to do a swap or rebody. There was this one, hard to say if the body was any good or not, but… Mandarin Orange interior, and looks like...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

And the K series trucks are even more ridiculous in price. Here's a couple from the past few months that were pretty good deals imo, definitely defying the current pricing trends. No title, but there's ways to solve that (legally) Think the ad was deleted, but there was a 71 c10, longbed...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I remember 15 or so years ago browsing Craigslist (yes I was an odd child) and seeing 67-72 pickups for like $500-1500 for trucks that ran and drove, drive them home deals. I’m sure most needed rockers and floors, upper windshield frame/inner roof, etc, but still. Good luck with that these...

    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

I’d say the GMT800 platform is pretty darn durable, and in some cases, even thrive on neglect. Like Stanley’s 8.1 truck: Over 500k, 8.1, 6 speed. I am not sure if it’s all of them or only certain ones, but they have plastic adapters to the heater core on the firewall that break at random...

    Cab repair stabilizing

On my 79, the outer rockers while rusty, were still structurally sound, I cut out the remainder of the floor and inner rockers and kick panels, replaced all that and tied that back together leaving the old rockers in place, after I got the inner structure back and tied in I cut one rocker off at...

One thing to note with the clamshell pullers, is that they are meant to pull on the cage with the outer race in place. The first time I used mine I did not do that, but now I do (pull on the cage w/outer race). Kind of voodoo but it works and doesn’t hurt the bearing.
