Thanks good to know. I've had the truck for almost 20 years, and based on the guy I bought it from I just assumed they were stock. I've got some friends that are electricians, I'll let them take a look.- midwest

I guess I described it wrong. I was just saying the one closest to the passenger door, not above it so to speak. As far as I know they are stock lights in the stock configuration.- midwest

I just replaced my headliner last month and if I remember the wiring goes up to the pillar and into the cavity in the roof gap. Is there even a way to physically check the wiring? Also the wiring went up the driver side, I assume if they were in series wouldn’t it start on that side and go to...- midwest

Where did you order your carpet from?
Mine fit just fine. At first I was a little concerned but in the time it took me to trim the front and back edge it had started to lay better. I had it in my barn and had the wood stove cranking and had it about 75 degrees in there as it was below freezing outside. Not sure if it helped or... -

73-80 LMC Dash Pad

I bought one from truck and car shop as well. Was cheaper than LMC and I would guess the quality is just as good. Like others have said, takes a little trimming but not much. For the price I was pleased with mine. -

I ordered my dash from the truck shop, just make sure you call them. Their online catalog prices are not real accurate, I don't think they update it too often. If you search on line for the 81-87 dash pads, they still show 239.00. They are 350.00 when you go to order one. -

When you say you have always opened the cap while the engine is at temp, is that only on this truck or on all your vehicles? If it has always been on this truck, then there could have always been a problem since you've owned it. If you've done this on other vehicles than you have gotten lucky.... -
