    Engine Won't Start

If adding fuel to carb and starting fluid doesn't fire it up even a little then it's not a fuel issue and more likely a spark issue. I'd pull a plug or two and check the condition and see if they have spark. Are they wet? I just went through the same thing, I flooded it... plugs smelled of gas...

Help!! I need a trick to free up a motor.

Well I changed the starter and ran a new ground to the block and it turns over like it should. I figured I'd change out the plugs and wires while I was under the hood. Fired right up and ran pretty damn nice once it warmed up (no choke).. Thanks again to everyone who helped me out!!

Proper Batt. to Starter Wire Routing?

I noticed the battery hot runs between the motor mount crossmember and the manifold on my 78 k10 and it's pretty tight and I need to change it. What's the proper way to run it? go along the frame and down or down and under the crossmember?

Help!! I need a trick to free up a motor.

Ok one more question, while researching the fuel in the oil issue I've read that a torn or damaged fuel pump diaphragm will pump gas into the crank. Can it do this and still pump enough to the carb to run the motor? and if it's damaged will it syphon fuel out of the tank until the tank is empty...

    Frame doesn’t look quite right

I don't see anything from here that stands out to me. front frame ends are pointed so it's an earlier unit. check around the power steering box location for cracks and maybe see if there's a partial vin stamped in the passenger frame rail. Looks to be missing a rad support on the drivers side...

Help!! I need a trick to free up a motor.

I should have, but no, I was at the ring gear trying by hand. I use to be able to do it when I was young. I threw the plugs back in and it turned over better than before, then it slowed down to to a crawl. I'll bite the bullet for a new starter and see what happens. Also sourcing some new...

yeah, I just throw in new oil, pulled the plugs and it spins like a top. I'm leaning toward bad starter now. And it must be me, but I still can't move the crank by hand,

Help!! I need a trick to free up a motor.

It acts like a bad battery connection or started issue, but the battery is new and the connections are good at the battery. I'll check at the starter connection. I might pull the plugs and see if it spins any better.

Help!! I need a trick to free up a motor.

I have a 78 k10 that will be next springs project. I have it stored way out back of the yard and this week I thought I'd move it to where I can get to it before the snow gets to deep. I tossed a new battery in it and it eventually fired up and idled no problem, but the ground is to wet to move...

    New, Need help identifying part

If the leaking part has a couple bolts going down into the engine and a dome shape in between the bolts it's the thermostat housing, or it's gasket... You can get one at almost any auto parts store. And get a new thermostat while you're at it. Good luck with it.
