School Me on Front End Parts

Thanks!! I've rebuilt the set on my 66 Galaxie. It was a PITA but I got it done. Easiest way for me to get the old ones out without bending the arm up was using a drill bit and torch to get the rubber out then an air chisel to crush the outer sleeve enough to knock it out. For replacement...

Have you installed any of your energy suspension parts yet? I'm thinking about ordering the master bushing kit from them for my truck.

    Harbor Freight Tool/Product Review

Yes, my pump went out using real solvent!! It worked perfect as long as I had water based cleaner but the water based stuff was no good. When I get around to upgrading to a solvent rated pump, I'll make a post about it. I do have their 20 ton press and It's worked fine for me for going on 8...

    New from N.C.

No good machine shops that I know of. I haven't been looking either though. I'm from down south originally, only been here a few years. I will also need a machine shop here in the next year or so for my upcoming build I have planned. I was just gonna ask around at some cruise-ins and go from...

HEI 5 Pin module, no spark

**UPDATE** After several hours of searching last night, I discovered that the 5 pin module is for ESC and you have to have the two outside terminals on the side of the module that has 3 terminals shorted together in order to operate as a stand-alone unit without computer control. I just...

HEI 5 Pin module, no spark

A little more background that may help me get this spark issue resolved. My truck is a 87, which came with TBI. This motor came out of a 85 or 86, and I'm running it with a carburetor. Currently trying to get spark on the engine stand before I am set to put the motor back in my truck. I...

HEI 5 Pin module, no spark

Yes, it came with a coil. The test light from tach to ground is illuminated when I have the +12V wire hot. Stays illuminated whether the engine is turning over or not. Coil resistance with it disconnected from everything is 1 ohm.

HEI 5 Pin module, no spark

Is there anything that should be hooked up on a 5 pin hei module to get spark besides +12v on the red wire? I'm trying to test fire my engine on the stand and i'm getting nothing. It's a 4.3 v6. I used a test light between the tach wire and +12v on the battery and I'm not seeing any flashing...

    6.0 LS into 86 C10

My truck is also 4.3L, TH400. I'm looking into engine swap options. What did you use as far as a radiator for this swap. Did you ever figure out anything about the gauges? Also, with your truck being originally a 3 speed, did you have to get a 4 speed column to have all the shift positions and...

    Rusty Rallies

Nice that you get to use a sandblaster!! I have two of mines stripped down and primered and I'm currently working on the other two. This is doing it by hand with a drill and abrasive wheels. Hope it comes out good with all this labor.

    Body Work & Welding Options

Stay away from the HF one! I bought a brand new HF 180 flux welder a few years ago. It worked good until it quit working for no reason. Of course it quit right when I needed it. Since then, i've purchased a Lincoln tombstone stick welder for heavier welding and a Summit Racing 110V MIG for...

What size shielding gas tank to get for welding

I now need to develop the patience to weld one spot at a time until its done! I think that'll actually be the hardest part. I have scrap fenders but I would also love to have some flat strips to work on so I can see how much is enough to cause warpage in the metal. May swing by Lowes and get...

What size shielding gas tank to get for welding

If you have the special regulator, you can run CO2 without it freezing all you want right? If I end up welding different materials, I may look into getting another regulator and tank to expand my skillset. For now, it's just me and the old 75/25 mix. Not bad!!!! I went back to the supply...

That's good to know if I don't feel like going to pick one up or for someone that doesn't have a local gas company they can buy one from. For price comparison, mines was $165 filled with 75/25 to buy locally.

What size shielding gas tank to get for welding

I was able to grab a shielding gas bottle today. Got it from a gas company in Winston-Salem. http://arc3gases.com/ They had a great price. Especially compared to tractor supply. I purchased the biggest tank they would allow you to purchase, which was a size 80 cylinder. They said that...
