    700R4 and NP208 Removal

I wouldn’t use harbor freight’s red scissor lift trans jack.I used on a Muncie 4 speed at 170lbs and it took all it had.Says it’s rated at 350,bit IDK. Be careful

Dana 60 pinion bearing replacement without disassembly ACCOMPLISHED

That’s pretty cool.I’m sure that info might help someone else. I do have a question, and am not whatsoever trying to be a smartass, but what about all the bearing material that has cycled through the rest of the assembly? Also,if that bearing was in that shape,is it time for a overhaul?

    Tilt steering question

Ya,I got it going.Putting tilt in was a pain, but definitely worth it.I would do it again.Of course, doing a swap like that isn’t just taking one out and the other just goes in.I had the ignition switch, wipers and a few other issues to deal with.

Build 'em like they used too?

There is American made parts out there. You’re gonna pay for it.(which I don’t mind),but the hard part is sifting through pages and pages of the generics found on the internet. So far,I haven’t found too many parts on my squarebody that I can’t get American. Alternators,starters,water...

    28 or 30 Spline Information

All rear 10 bolts are 28spl for 84-85’.However,if you’re not the original owner, always verify something like that before ordering parts. If it has a open carrier now, chances are it is original.

    Manual locking hubs

I’ve used mile marker and warn on Chevy 1/2,3/4,and 1 ton front axles with no problems.Warn came standard on a lot of 1 ton Chevy trucks. Defiantly could have the wrong part,I suppose.Might re-torque your wheel bearing nut and lock nut.Make sure the little nub on the bearing preload nut matches...

    Manual locking hubs

Am I crazy or is there a broke stub axle inside the old hub? maybe why you’re replacing huh,? Man,I would say it’s an issue at the hub itself. These hubs have been being made for so long,it’s just clockwork. Some people use too much grease.Directions say not to.Or something is up with your...

T case and Differential Lubricant recommendations Lubricant recommendations

I would still run motor oil in the np203 because that’s what GM called for. The only true way to know if you have a limited slip is to pull the cover off, which you’d do anyway when changing oil.
