    I know it’s not exactly on topic,but now is a good time to look at your heater hoses,clamps and test antifreeze. Wrong mixture of coolant can cause premature water pump failure.

    1/2 tons came with 3.73 and down (numerically)with automatics.All of the 1/2 tons and higher rated pick ups with manual trans usually has 4.10s.K-30’s are the only pickups I see with 4.56 from the factory,but not often. More people use to order their trucks back then,so it changes things up.

    I use all kinds of years for my square.It depends on the exact part you are working on.When you order from say Rock Auto,you can cross reference a couple of years back and check the numbers,look at the pictures.Btm line,take the part with you and compare if possible, Nice pickup.

    How many mounts should SM465/NP208 have? + 4x4 light + linkage

    I would take the driveshaft loose from rear axle,bottom it out in the transfercase,then about 2 to 3” out should be plenty for movement and spline engagement

    Dana 60 rear end gears

    Not saying you don’t have a 60,but is that the number cast on the lower right corner,next to the cover? I would of thought a Dana 70 or 14 bolt.Anyhow,you will need a carrier for 4.10

    Gm performance has a lot of different options for your budget and horsepower needs.I believe all the engines come with a warranty except circle track engines. I went to a local Chevy dealer and in 30 minutes had a engine in the bed of my truck.

    Exhaust smoke on startup

    Engines do not do well sitting.I would take the carb apart and clean. Take a look at the plugs and timing as she suggested.Look at vacuum hoses,most likely dry rotted.

    You’ll have to bleed the brakes.Start at the furthest wheel from the master cylinder(per brake line routing) and work your way to closest.On my squarebody the drivers side rear is furthest and drivers side front is closest.

    I feel like GM got the square body tow hooks wrong.They seem more suited to tie the truck down than pull anything. I don’t know about you guys/gals,but most times,I pull out people in reverse.
