Resurrecting Clifford the big red 87 R3500

I feel the same way. I am going to POR15 the cab floor underneath. I am not sure about the inside floor though. I thought about using bedliner. I have always felt that the floor insulation was the biggest cause of the floors rusting out. It seems like that stuff never dries. I know it wasn't...

    Crate engine swap advise please?

Ok with these comments then all future talk about gas mileage is foolish. Just saying. The truck has the aerodynamics, big word:shrug:, of a brick. You just need it to run good, be efficient, be reliable and pass everything but a gas station.:) Torque is what you want. You have the right gearing.

    Zone 4" Lift Springs...Install & Review

I am pretty sure that is where I got my front bushings from. In the old days, back in 1985-86 when I bought my kit, you got to choose which color you wanted for your shock boots. It seems that is not so common anymore. I think it is because it costs money for the manufacturer. I just...

    Zone 4" Lift Springs...Install & Review

MO can you order through Smmit? I would also measure the spring eyes before ordering them too. That way you get the right ones. Those spring eyes are not all the same. I needed to replace the bushings in my front springs as well. I measured them and had to custom order a set. I ordered...

    260h comp cam

Save your money and buy a qjet. There are way too many posts from different guys regarding Edelbrock carbs. They have to be adjusted and fine tuned. You can bolt a Qjet on and never have to fool with it. It's your money tho...

How difficult and what is involved?

You really want to slide the bed back. It is much easier. Key word in the previous sentence is much. Dropping the tank is very aggravating and involves much cussing. Don't ask me how I know.

I have always had good luck ordering from the following Parts companies- Summit. Now I will mention accompany that does have bad...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well we went to O'reillys and picked up a 7mm wrench and a set of bodywork tools! We cut a little more and argued about fitment issues. After surfing the net I found the answer and we now have a plan of attack. And I do mean attack. We are not going to fool around now. Ahh-sounded good didn't...

What have you done to your square lately??

Brother they are still in the camera! :) I am beat. I will post them later on in my build thread. We are getting a little excited because we have mocked up the inner and outer rockers as well as the floor. Nothing like cutting the rust off of the old girl tho. I told david that this is going...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well we got some weld thru primer. David has the floor support welded on. We took the outer housing on the cowl panel off. We took the floor vent off so we could access the kick panel. We got the old kick panel cut off as well. Got a lot done and we are both tired.

1977 pickup headers should work on a 85 Right?

Ok I just took a close look at them again and I have a question. It looks like the tubes are placed on the flat part of the exhaust flange and spot welded. If the exhaust is going to leak it will be right at the joint between the tube and the long exhaust flange. In other words in a couple of...

what year truck did i buy?? experts needed!!

Let me guess "One piece at a time". We are officially old to know that tune! BTW- Here is the answer, I think, to the frame question. Watch the video and look at the front cross member. https://youtu.be/Jn4vzPkjfoo?t=1s I am revising my guess. I say it is a late 80's 2wd body on a 80's...

1977 pickup headers should work on a 85 Right?

OK I am hoping you pick a set of these up. I am wondering if they will fit as well. I have a 79 4wd with a 72 350 in it. I honestly don't care about the collectors. If it bolts up to my exhaust then that is what I am going to do. I really like the price but I am not sure. They look better than...

what year truck did i buy?? experts needed!!

What do you guys think about the height of the hump? It looks kinda low to me. My vote is a clean 2wd late body on a 70's 4wd frame. Maybe... This is crazy..
