    Have you made any progress? I thought of this the other night, if your lifter preload is to tight it can cause the engine to stall when you put it in gear. I would go through and double check you lifter adjustment

    If you have some room In the budget a Holley sniper efi kit would be great for a hungry big block. Orrrrrrrrrr you could LS swap it and have great power and decent fuel economy in a smaller package. You could still run your trans of choice as well with either route you choose

    Those cleanable clear glass filters are a great way to burn your truck/house down. Just use a 3/8 clear plastic throw away filter and replace when necessary

    I was thinking a ford axle as well with GM hubs. Great work on the build again. I usually classify all lines of GM engines as LS weather it’s a vortec, ls, iron block, etc. I’ve noticed it cuts down on the confusion when I talk to people about them.

    Do you have a mechanical fuel pump or inline electric pump? Motor could be starving from low fuel pressure when the engine is under load. You could have a restriction in the fuel line or filter. The choke could be stuck on ( it shouldn’t die tho ) or there is the possibility of your timing...

    What happens exactly when you shift? Does the motor attempt to stay running and then dies, does it sputter and die when the gas is applied? How low does the RPM drop when you initially shift from park to drive?
