To add what Craig said, there is also a large tail gate band in the 70's. I have one for my '76 K25
Note it doesn't have the wide black line around the perimeter like the 80's.
That's what happened to my '85, the Previous Owner replaced the alternator, starter, cables and battery. I installed a new terminal end and was good to go! ;)
They want $171 to ship a $27 bracket to me in Canada! WTF.
From what I understand 1973-80 and 1981-87 battery trays are the same, the supports are different. Correct me if i'm wrong...
I'm glad I don't have to think about someone stealing my stuff... Keys are left in the ignition, doors unlocked...
Anyone reading this wants to try, you better bring a treat for my German Shepherds! :)
Oh ya, Smile, your on camera.:secret:
Dam... I thought this was going to be a fun thread!:boobs:
My '85 had black primer, took it down to bare metal just to make sure i didn't have problems.
I would check the fusible link at the starter, i had intermittent power in my C30. the PO had changed the starter, battery and alternator trying to fix the problem.
The band I posted is an early one (70's), the later (80's) wide band has a black line around the perimeter.
There are 3 different bands that I know of, 2 in the 70's (wide & narrow) and one in the 80's (wide)
Not the best pics. My '76 GMC has 5 holes about 14 3/8" apart. This is for the wide band, don't know what the narrow band has. 1981 and up is different.
