    Advice needed..

Like Roger and Matt suggest, the connector in the first image looks like the one used for the brake lights switch: Problem is that while the ORN wire is correct, the other one should be WHT. Also that green wire (or whatever color it is - I'm color blind) appears to be a bigger gauge than it...

    Two Very Important stupid Question(s)...

Are you saying that that white switch isn’t the neutral safety switch? If not then what is it? I actually got my reverse lights to work with the adjustment of the slider so that’s a plus. That is the switch for the B/U lights - see post #6. I’m looking for the INST LPS fuse on my fuse block...

    Two Very Important stupid Question(s)...

Question (1)- Do I have the wrong neutral safety switch? My neutral safety switch located at the base of the colum has only two spades on it with a blue and green wire to it. By 1985 the NSS had been eliminated and was replaced with a mechanical interlock in the upper part of the steering...

    AC fan wiring

IDK what to tell you then. Is the other end connected to the selector switch? I wouldn't worry about it - the fan speed will just be in manual control. Its probably always been like that anyway.

    AC fan wiring

With the mode select lever is set to AC - and the temperature control lever is in the full COLD position - the blower speed switch is bypassed and only HI speed is available. There is a switch in the mode selector that closes when the above conditions are present. Full battery voltage is then...

    AC fan wiring

Power on 52 ORN doesn't go directly to the blower motor. It connects to the blower relay and is used to energize the coil inside the relay. When the relay pulls in full battery voltage is applied to the motor windings. See the attached, the first one isn't exactly your year but the operation is...

    Duel Tank 1987 fuel lines

A lot of GMSB owners would say "No, you don't." The conventional wisdom is that those stone shields protect your gas tank from flying stones. But seriously, have you ever heard of anyone's gas tank being punctured by a flying stone? On the other hand, what does happen with the shield installed...

Looking for Photo's or A/C wiring harness from an 85 K20 Truck

Oh yeah for sure - get whatever tubing you can. Especially the all aluminum liquid line from the condenser to the evap inlet. That is becoming really hard to find. It's no.16 in the dwg above - GM part 15568998. The compressor suction and discharge lines/hoses are still readily available - and...

Help, ideas, battery drain 79 K10 details

This caught my eye: I reconnected everything on the alternator, then split the 2 wire connection on top, the lug on the drivers side (redish wire) will cause the light to go out when interrupted. The other wire on the left had no effect. What's strange is - that, depending on the year (1979...

Looking for Photo's or A/C wiring harness from an 85 K20 Truck

These images might help: Note that there are only 5 wires associated with the AC system that transit the firewall. Three go to the blower resistor assembly and one each to the blower relay & pressure control switch (the other side of the control switch runs over to the compressor clutch)...

    Slow hot crank

Sorry missed the year - and, yeah with EST there's not a lot you can do with timing. Just break the TAN/BLK lead and set timing as per the sticker. Maybe it has to do with heat under the hood causing a reduction in current carrying capacity somewhere in the starter motor circuit. You might...

Mystery fastener hole on heater box

The fastener used in that hole is supposed to be a self-tapping type bolt. It threads right into the sheet steel of the firewall -you shouldn't need a nut on the other side.
