Long tube headers that fit 4wd k5’s

It’s just bolted on and easily removable. I just wasn’t sure if there was a set that fit and kept this bracket in place. I’m ok with removing it as I’m sure I’ll never need it and haven’t needed it on my 82 K10. Ben

Long tube headers that fit 4wd k5’s

The bracket I circled in red is the one in question. The differential housing has a pad that the rubber stop will hit if taking a fall guy type jump and landing. This truck has the quad shock set up. I’ll look at my other trucks to see which do and don’t have it. My 82 does not have it and that...

Long tube headers that fit 4wd k5’s

Do any long tube headers fit a tbi k5 4wd? By this I mean not having to remove the bump stop on the passenger side that bolts to the frame and would hit on the axle at the differential? I’ve got a set of headman headers but I’d have to remove that bump stop in order for them to fit. Not the end...

    AC HELP NEEDED..

This is awesome information. I still have r12 in cans at my garage and have r12 in my 82 K10. I swear you can hang meat in that thing on fan speed 2 in the dead of summer. My suburban has been converted by previous owner to r134a and it sucks. The rear ac doesn’t cool at all and the front only...

    High output alternator

I’ve already done the wiring upgrades. 4ga cable from alternator to battery. 4ga ground from body to frame, frame to battery, frame to motor. I haven’t done the headlight relay set up yet but I’ve got a tired alternator and want to upgrade. Ben

    High output alternator

So you guys with the 12si alternator, which application did you use for a bolt in conversion? Also, are you still using the single V-belt drive pulley? If so, does it squeal at all? We all know that the old school v-belts like to squeal under load and I’m wondering if a higher output alternator...

How Fast Can A Squarebody Go?

I run my 87 6.2 2 wheel drive burban daily. I’ve had that truck up to 80 and it really felt solid and wasn’t hard to do. That truck is very tight and well maintained. back in high school I had The speedo in my 87 Jimmy 4x4 Back around to 15mph so whatever that was. I just remember the steering...

What have you done to your square lately??

I spent some time updating the electrical system today. Ran 4ga cable from alternator to battery. Ran a 4ga Cable from battery ground to the frame rail. Added a 4 lug power point under the hood where I will grab power for my stereo, headlight relay set up and whatever else I may need down the...

    Tbi and long tube headers

what did you use for a heated o2 sensor? And did you just run ignition power to it for the heater element? This truck will be used in the winter time and I’d like to have it in closed loop as much as possible. thanks ben

    Tbi and long tube headers

Any of you guys have a tbi motor with long tubes? Mostly I’m wondering what o2 sensor you’re using. I’m worried about not having enough heat for a single wire o2 sensor at the collector. Should I go with a heated o2? Is it as simple as running an ignition power source to the heater circuit in a...

What have you done to your square lately??

Started my stereo system install. I couldn’t bring myself to cut the factory dash so I’m putting my head unit in the console. Along with some 4” speakers, my amp, cap, some usb power ports, some blue LED floor lights. I’ve got 2 old school JBL 10” subs, some nice 6x9’s in boxes out back. And new...

    Radiator overflow nipple broken.. options?

Solder it back on. If you can’t, JB weld it. I’ve done both with good results. There is never pressure in that tube so it’s not that hard to re attach. Ben

What have you done to your square lately??

Got it aligned after doing upper and lower control arm bushings a month or so ago. Can’t believe it still has the factory GM riveted upper ball joints after 33 years and 290,000 miles. They’re tight as can be and grease-able So I didn’t replace them with Napa crap. Ben

    TBI issues, please help diagnose...

I would make 100% sure you do or don’t have spark when it won’t start. Then you know if you have a fuel or ignition problem. I will 2nd the coolant temp sensor problem. Have experienced it 1st hand. Mine had a sensor stuck at like 120 degrees, would not cold start for crap. also, I’ve had an...

    How far to go?

I’m am so in the original look department. I’m a snob to all of the new aftermarket stuff. My biggest pet peeve is seeing a square body restored with aftermarket interior pieces and such. The aftermarket door panels are garbage, not the same texture, right color etc. I’d much rather have a...
