    True but it'll be difficult to do that while test driving. It's nice to graph the data and watch for abnormalities.

    Check the CTS. You'll need a scan tool that can read data. If its running "cool" it'll be pig rich, pop skip and have no balls.

    Adjust the rears for sure. I'd also drive it before condemning it. I've had plenty with a soft pedal feel that work beautifully.

    It should start on four glow plugs, especially all on the same bank. It'll smoke some but it'll go. How cold is it and have you checked the fuel for water?

    I believe you are asking whether or not the pinion and ring gear need to be clocked in the way they came apart? If so, then no. Just make sure the shims go back in the same places.

    The buick carb will have a straight inlet fuel line. I thought the thermostat housing on a SBC made it unable to run a straight inlet carb.. i seem to remember trying this years ago and it didn't work.

    Step one is to pull the crossmember to tilt the trans down. Also make sure to pull the distributor cap on a chevy. With the trans tilted back you can easily get to the bellhousing bolts from down below.

    Yes the tires are great. They are 33x12.50x16.5. They are radials so they ride very nice. I had to get one warrantied and vortrax was great to deal with. Their rep told me they make two runs of 16.5s a year and don't plan to stop production anytime soon. I may list them for sale pretty soon. The...

    ANYONE USED VORTEC HIGH SWIRL HEADS ON THEIR GEN-I SBC?

    They were the best factory head for the OG SBC. For the right money I would definitely use a set. They were covered extensively by car mags in the late 90s and early aughts, so there is a ton of info out there. The biggest draw back is the intake requirements at this point..
