    700r4 problems

@Matt69olds i have park reverse neutral and atleast one forward gear, I haven’t gone fast enough for a shift yet. I was just told it didn’t shift after a rebuild. I saw cheap K5 blazer, running somewhat driving, so I snagged on it. I can try the governor trick, I haven’t heard that one yet lol...

    350 TBI o2 sensor

@squaredeal91 you see I considered that since I had an issue with the cts on my 87, but it’s below 30° today here in Tennessee, so I’m trying to come up with everything to do at once before going outside lol

    350 TBI o2 sensor

I’ll look into it more later, I haven’t ran the truck a lot but I have got it up to temp twice. It started up without throttle prior to tbi rebuild but it idled so high it didn’t matter, I’m hoping it’s just an iac issue, something simple.

    350 TBI o2 sensor

This ones already got the thing welded in, assuming it’s the correct nut, new o2 should just go right in? Could no o2 sensor cause the issue cranking? Once it’s warm it seems to start right up but cold it cranks longer than my 87 by a mile and it won’t stay running unless it’s got a little...

    350 TBI o2 sensor

Yes they’re hedman long tube headers, still have probably 60% of the paint on them and the bung(read a different forum that had bung censored) is right before the collector, I think they’re the ball seat style collector? Lumpy looking. I’ll throw an o2 sensor in and get a set of reducers and do...

    350 TBI o2 sensor

Should a replacement o2 sensor screw into the hedman hedders? I don’t know what thread the o2 sensors are I’ve never had to replace one.

    350 TBI o2 sensor

If I can just throw an o2 sensor in and it’ll be good I’ll go ahead and get reducers and keep the headers, if I can’t then I reckon I’m on the search for tbi manifolds

    350 TBI o2 sensor

Aright single purple wire, smaller gauge I suppose? If I buy a factory replacement will it get enough heat from the long tube headers or would I have to make a heated o2 work? I used to have some tbi manifolds but I think I traded them off for a holley 1850 I dunno

    350 TBI o2 sensor

I don’t believe it’s throwing any codes? When I had the Aldl jumped it was blinking code 12 but the ses light isn’t on. It smells rich it burns your eyes to be around it while running for extended time. I blamed part of that on just being open headers. Edit: let me ask this, say there is an o2...

    700r4 problems

It’s still got a throttle body and what appears to be the factory bracketry. I believe the cable has been replaced, possible after it was “rebuilt”?

    350 TBI o2 sensor

So same truck as my 700r4 thread. 1990 Chevrolet Blazer, original 350 tbi 127k miles. I got it and it cranked forever and idled super high. Rebuilt the tb and it idles fine now(has gasket was shot) if it’s cold it still cranks forever but you also have to give it just a little throttle or it...

    700r4 problems

@gmbellew when I got it the cable had a little sag so I went through the procedure for adjusting, pushed it all the way in and held wot but then I pushed it back in a couple clicks so it wouldn’t sag, I don’t know what kinda cable it is but it’s got a bajillion feet extra past the clip part...

    700r4 problems

Will the shifts through gears be obvious without a load? I’ve got plenty of stuff I can support it in the air with and let it get up to speed. I just haven’t wanted to further damage it if preventable. I mean I got it for a steal so if I have to spend a couple hundred on a trans it isn’t the end...

    700r4 problems

So I know I know I have too many clunkers. I just picked up this 1990 K5 blazer with the very powerful 350 TBI and the 700r4 and the unicorn 241 with electric vss. I got this for a steal because previous owner stated trans was rebuilt and won’t shift to second. Now I don’t know a whole lot about...

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

    1983, originally a 6.2 with 700r4 now it’s got a 350 and th400 sitting on a 6” lift

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

I moved the electric pump from the firewall to the frame rail right in front of the passenger rear wheel. I’ll replace the pump if it’ll hold fuel but this one lost prime and I’ve tried everything I can think of to get it to pull fuel.
  17. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

Yes the cam should have the lobe for a pump, whats an electric pump I can get relatively affordable? It’s got just cheap parts store pump on it and another burnt up one inside of it. Guy had it mounted on the firewall I moved it to the frame
  18. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

It doesn’t even have to be 3/8” that extension had wiggle room and the fuel pump rod is just barely hitting. I’ve never experienced this so I have no idea. Say 1/2” is too big, 3/8 has wiggle room, 7/16 would fit I mean it’s just not going
  19. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

@Radiohead @Bextreme04 so the block is machined the whole way to the cam, just not a big enough hole?
  20. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

This is a pump rod straight out of a small block parts truck. I’ll buy a new one if needed, I can possibly find a caliper and read the diameter of this one

    5.3LS won’t rev?

It did return that day but the truck currently has no codes showing Edit: actually I fixed a ground from the block to the battery and that’s what resolved my po354. My main ground wasn’t right.
  22. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

Yes it’s got an aftermarket cam, .292 duration decent sized cam, previous owner said he didn’t have all the stuff to put on a mechanical pump or he would have. Was originally a diesel. The hole goes the whole way to the cam, as mentioned I can put a 3/8” rod in all the way but this fuel pump...
  23. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

Yes there was a block off plate, I removed it since I need a better fuel supply the electric pump is junk and lost prime to the tank.
  24. iamtherealJayy

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

Is this hole something that can be enlarged or do I need to find a different rod or shave this rod or is there bigger issues or

    5.3LS won’t rev?

@Bextreme04 where’s the walkthrough? I cleared said code and it didn’t come back, I could’ve had something loose etc. the harness on this engine I haven’t touched, I bought engine harness computer all together from Murray ky, dude cuts and works the harnesses
