    Rust converters and Frame paint

So I'm in the process of cleaning up my frame. What have you guys been using that stands up? Works the best? Cheapest to the best? Easy application? Been watching lots of videos. Have had good and bad results with por15. Did all the right steps and the crap peeled off my duramax frame...

    Exhaust opinions and discussion

Straight pipe 6.2s sound like crap. I've done it before and had to buy a muffler. I think it was a flo pro still had some rumble but its tough to make a 6.2 6.5 sound good exhaust wise at idle cause the classic sound of them over power it.

    New Carpet, install Dynamat first?

At 69 bucks your crazy not too. Thats a pretty good deal. I got mine for 120 but I think it was the next box size bigger. I also did my transmission hump and fire wall with the noico 10 mm stuff. The 27 square foot roll did my firewall twice and my high hump

I cant get my new engine to run smooth. Seems untunable.

Well shucks. Just talking to the father inlaw this morning having coffee and he's a mechanic and its to bad you don't have a torch cause it would say alot quick. He did mention though that if its a tbi carb intakes that he has ran into using those carb plate engines lifts points it can pull...

I cant get my new engine to run smooth. Seems untunable.

Easy way of telling if you got a vacuum leak in the intake Valley is to stick a propane torch in were the pcv valve goes put your thumb over the pcv valve. It will idle up if you got a leak in there even if its a small one.

No power to distributor or start wire

So if I remember correctly when I did a 6.2 to 350 conversion the wire that ran the glow plug relay was our coil wire. On a tbi the wire come from the battery to the alternator to the junction box on fire wall then through firewall to ignition switch then back through the fire wall to coil...

Get your Hookers while they're available!

They look so close though. I might be the first for trying I guess. I plan on painting my chassis over Christmas break here and it would be super easy redoing my cross over pipe with no body on. It dives me nuts hanging down below the t case. Yours @SquareRoot turned out deadly.

Get your Hookers while they're available!

Question on these hookers. Are they a direct replacement for our existing manifolds? Or close to? Reason why asking is cause I want to rebuild my cross over pipe but can't afford both so if I were to do cross over pipe now then down the road install the headers. The pipe mount flange looks...

    front disc squeal?

Heavy metal and turn the radio up. Noise just disappears. Lol. I put those brembo brake pads on my work van and they bloody things squealed from day one. Drove me nuts. Tried all sorts of stuff but never worked. Only thing that fixed it was buying a new van.

What did you pay for a square

Paid 3500 for my suburban 3 years ago. And it was a tough find for around here. Rust in the rockers and its now started on the back wheel wells. Had 87km. I've maybe seen 2 in my neck of the woods for sale lately and they were barely a suburban left and were non runners going for 2k plus.

head lights, duals to singles 85k20

Here the difference in the headlights pockets on the rad support. Also the wiring is pretty simple and is a upgrade. Just run relays for the high and low beams. So your headlights switch is just a switch and the power for the bulbs is from a relay instead of going through the switch.

Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous

Beautiful truck. Reading the description kinda made me laugh when it got to the point were it says "Sold As Is" hmm no faith in the builder so it went up for auction?

I cant get my new engine to run smooth. Seems untunable.

Its amazing on how many things aren't flammable now adays. I use my blue or yellow plumbing torch for vacuum leaks. Works Pretty good too. Easy way to find intake leaks also that are on inside.

Ideal/temporary option to fill holes in

I've used those plastic wheel well holders before with a dab of caulking behind them to seal. They last about a year but get brittle in the sun. They lay nice and flat and come in all sorts of sizes.

Loosing 12 volts at the injection pump now

If I remember correctly the 12 volts does come from the ignition switch unfused. Kinda like the coil does on a 5.7 tbi. I had problems with not getting a clean 12 volts to my coil and it was the ignition switch. This is a ignition switch pulled apart. Pretty bad inside of there and burnt and...

    Post 4 speed swap woes

This shot is from the drivers side vent towards the steering column. On mine the ignition wires and brake lights switch goes over top of the column. I remember making the mistake of bolting in my column then running the wires after and had to unbolt it to get the wires up over and plugged in.

Whats the going rate for shortening a driveshaft? I think I got....shafted

I worked for a farmer who use to make his own pto and drive shafts and they out lasted stuff from the factory. It was easier and quicker then driving to town and dropping off or waiting a week. 2 hours and we were back up and running.

    Stuttering/Hesitation/down on power & I kinda got electrocuted a little ;(

There's also a little screen on the distributor that collects dirt and will cause condensation inside the cap and rotor. If it's all corroded inside there thats why when checking it out.

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

Kill Matt is pretty cheap when it goes on sale. I did my floor and firewall. I also got to noico 10 mm stuff and did two layers on firewall and one on transmission hump for 200 bucks canadian. And I will say once that stuff is on there good luck getting it off. I left a pretty big piece out so...

6.2L Diesel - swap to J-code intake or not?

Having lots of 6.2 and 6.5 diesels in my day. I would do it. Its nice that you don't have to touch any injector lines. I've done the swap a few times it brought my egt down a 100 degrees on my 6.5. Was it a noticeable difference. Yes and no.
