AC or not to Ac is the question

So my suburban has no ac. I just picked up a suburban with factory air. I live in Canada and it gets warm but not crazy at least for the most part. I want to keep the truck as simple as possible. Is it worth the while carving up the firewall and moving everything. The ac suburban is rough...

    Bench seat console

I gotten a few bought ones back in the day and they were ok. I decided with this truck to custom make one. Happy I did fits way nicer and only costed me 50 bucks. It has cup holders now in the front but they only fit pop cans but if I pull them out my coffee cup fits.

    Driveline vibration

Check to see if you possibly lost a weight on your driveshaft. Rare but I had it happen to me. But usually don't start feeling it until getting up in speed.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

If cell phone tickets weren't a thing I would of had a classic Found On Road Dead picture on one of the industrial area main streets right at the lights. About 6 B train semi's waiting to turn left behind him. Kinda felt sorry for him with his head and arms on the steering wheel with the hood...

Just a safety thing got me thinking if previous owner just ran a hot from fuse box and cut the starter wire as soon as he turn the key on it may start the truck and keep starter inguaged. Now if the push button only works when the key is turned all the way to the start position then have to...

So I go and save this truck for 150 bucks from going to the crusher. Some decent parts on there. I'm in the middle of moving and the wrecking yatd said I could pic it up in a week. Then today he goes and post a suburban with all the brown interior in good shape for 200 bucks. I literally have no...

Gotta love how trees grow in some of theses vehicles. I remember yarding a suburban out of the Bush and trees had grown up through the lower control arms and through the springs.

10 inch lift and 37 inch tires on 88 suburban

I think your truck as it sits looks way better then the red one. I would do a 4 inch lift 1 inch body and 33s or 35s. I think it would look better. Theres a YouTube video of a white suburban with a company wrap on it with that combo and looks sharp. I'll see if I can find it at dinner time here.

    1989 Suburban Wiring harness

That's to bad the mice got in there. I would be definitely checking the harness. Especially by the ecm theres a pretty good spot for them buggers to make a nice home up there.

    Extremely loose steering

One of my drag links was pretty worn that caused a sloppy steering. Easy way to check with truck running and if your by yourself is just grab the steering shaft through the wheel well and move it back and forth and look for play. Also check your stabilizer shock.

Kicking around doing an LS swap

I'm in the same boat as you in the fuel mileage and doing a ls swap. What i have learned so far is that if you go with a 6.0 you are going to want to go with a 4l80e. You can sometimes get lucky and find a 6.0 and a 4l65e combo on a escalade but not the easiest things to come around. I'm going...

plans have changed - need opinions

Yes I took all the plastic off on the inside pretty quick with a cordless impact to get all the door weatherstripping off. Took a few weeks to get back on cause I pretty much stripped and masked on a Friday night and painted on Saturday and reassembled on Sunday night. Now thats my rattle van...

    Insulation on a Budget

Kilmat does not peel off at all nicely. I needed to get at my bolts for the door hinges it was a struggle to get it to this point. If I were you I would do as much as you can and leave out the spots you want to repair in the future.

plans have changed - need opinions

I hear you on the whole process. Paint isn't cheap and sucks doing things twice. I bought a 89 suburban with a not so cool camo paint job and was my daily for a few years. I had to do something relatively quick so did the rattle can job. Now sanding it off not fun. Anyways I was able to door...

    Minimalist harness

I just redid my harness on my suburban. Took it all out with the steering colum so I could turn the key on and off to see what all gets powered up. I ended up deleting all the fasten seatbelt stuff and the headlight warning stuff. That was a few wires there. Mine is a non ac truck so nothing...
