    1954 Chevrolet Bel Air

That car brings back some mighty fine memories. The second car I owned when in HS was a 54 Belair four door. I didn't appreciate that car back then but I sure would like to have it back now.:Caffeine: I`ll surely be watching this build thread.

    Small block... buick? Oldsmobile? PONTIAC?

The wifey took a liking to a non running 88 Buick Century. New fuel pump and it has been a very dependable car. She drives it every day. It has a 2.8 V6, I must say that must be the crappiest designed engine any manufacturer has ever come up with. Constantly messing with oil leaks, not enough...

    Small block... buick? Oldsmobile? PONTIAC?

I sold a 350 Buick engine that I had got it balanced, after the car got wrecked by a previous GF. Sold it to a friend and He stuffed that engine into His SB Chevy pickup. He said best running unit He ever owned.

    Save The Junk?

If You use a fabric or a vinyl on the dash, check the UV resistance of it before buying. I bought fabric for curtains for My camper, made the curtains and they lasted about two to three years, now they are all faded and beginning to fall afart, I mean apart. :Caffeine:

Do I need a "valve job"

One more thing, bad valves will usually not cause a oily or bad smell to come off the engine. Another thing to check is the PCV valve. Remove it from the valve cover, it should be heard to rattle, if no rattle, replace.

Do I need a "valve job"

Does the engine idle smooth ? Get a compression tester, warm the engine to operating temp, remove the spark plugs, disable ignition system so it dont make sparks, throttle wide open, screw comp test hose into the no. 1 spark plug hole and spin over the engine until needle quits climbing on the...

    High Beam?

The special tool for removal of the steer wheel is two legs under the wheel, pressing against the steer wheel and with the horn cap removed and the nut screwed part of the way off to protect the threads of the steering shaft, rap the top of the nut/shaft with a hammer, might take several but it...

What have you done to your square lately??

Even after the 50 key cycles, from what I read is after so long, if a resistor is not installed, the pump will fail to function after a while, so, there must be a relearn process in there somewhere, I switched Mine to a no. 5 after removing a no. 9 and have not had a problem.

What have you done to your square lately??

The pump can be forced into relearn mode, KOEO, accel pedal to the floor for 45 seconds and engine temp over 170 or 175 degrees, I dont remember, then, key off for 30 seconds, then, start the engine, engine will run very rough and even to the point of dying, it is relearning timing too, restart...

What have you done to your square lately??

HA, I`ll have to take a look in the connector. I do have a spare no.9 in the tool box, I run a no.5 in My grey box Stanadyne that's mounted to the heat sink, behind the bumper.

What have you done to your square lately??

Picked up one of these for the K3500 6.5. The guy that sold it to me said He thought His injection pump had failed, turmed out it was the PMD black box so he has had this pump unopened setting on His shelf for a few years. Dont know if it was a real good deal or now, but, just could not pass it...

    Motor ground gets hot

You must be careful when using the Lucas brand, depending on if it is made for the UK wiring or the US wiring, the UK smoke will place the smoke on the wrong side of the wire and cause the blinkers to unblink unless UK blinker fluid is added.

    Motor ground gets hot

Is the battery ground hooked to the frame or is it hooked to the engine ? I always hook the ground to the engine then, take another grounding wire of the same size and run it to the frame, then, take another wire of the same size and hook it to the body from the frame ground. That way everybody...
