Dual tanks; NO fuel
1984 C-10 Scottsdale 350 currently with carb.. Gonna install Fitech TBI EFI.........IF: Truck quit running, I switched tanks (valve works, or...it did...) It makes noise when the switch is activated. The fuel quit flowing........from either tank. I can draw on the supply line and all I get is...- Ronno6

Gas Gauge Off The Deep End

Gas Gauge Off The Deep End
1984 C10 dual tanks. New tanks, at least 1 new pickup/sender. Just installed gauge cluster after 2+ years. Gas gauge travels WAY past full...........same for both tanks. Maybe 5 gal in each tank. Tank selector switch and valve working. Sound like a ground issue?? Both tanks at the same time...- Ronno6

Fuel Hose OK ?
I currently have a piece of 3/8" steel brake line bent to fit. It already had a flare on the end.. I had do tighten the living heck out of the nut to get it to stop leaking..... But OK for now.- Ronno6

The problem with a pre bent tube is that I have a '95 C1500 350. that truck did not come with a carb nor mechanical FP. But it has all serpentine brackets/accessories. So.............- Ronno6

Fuel Hose OK ?
Is there any reason not to connect the fuel pump to the carb with rubber fuel hose? I converted my 84 C10 to a later model 350 and put all serpentine driven accessories on the front. The hard line ran in behind all that jazz and was a pain to get out.......would be even worse to snake back in...- Ronno6

Door Skin Sound Deadening
Thanks, guys. I had figured that strips would be easier to get thru the holes in the inner door panels. But, maybe with the windows and regulators out, the mat can be dropped in thru the window openings.......... -
Door Skin Sound Deadening
As I have the windows out of my '84 C-10 in preparation for installing single pane glass, the time is right to apply sound deadening mat to the inside of the skins. Is it necessary to cover the entire inner surface as much as possible, or will strips with spaces in between do the trick? -
84 Step Side Gas Filler Hoses
The driver's side went on fine. The passenger side would NOT accommodate.....so.. I tool my exhaust pipe expander and stretched it a tad til it slipped on.......- Ronno6

Cab To Bed Dimension
Is there a dimension specified between the back of the cab and the front of the bed on a 1984 C10 short bed? -
Bed Deck Bolt Spacers
The OEM deck had steel spacers thru the wood deck at the mounting bolts. The holes I bored in my white oak bed boards are off location a tad, enough to prevent me from installing those spacers. I believe that those spacers insure a good solid fastening of the bed cross braces to the chassis... -
Re-installing Re-decked Short Bed
I expended much thought as to how best to install new decking in my short which I had removed for painting. I should have thought more.... I figured that the frame holes and slots would allow proper mounting of the bed, even if it was out of square a tad. I was wrong...... I could probably get... -

Offset Bed Washer Source
anyone have a good source for the 1-7/8" O.D. offset washers for 1/2" carriage bolts? I ordered and received from LMC, but they are 1-1/2" O.D and for 3/8" bolts...not what the factory used. There is nobody at LMC who can answer "Technical" questions... I see then at Mar-K and was ready to...- Ronno6

What Are They??
Now, the next question....... My bed had steel sleeves/spacers on the remaining 6 1/2" carriage bolts. I would think these were OEM, but LMC doesn't show them in their catalog..... They are a pretty close fit to the square neck on the carriage bolts. Should they be a tad shorter than the...- Ronno6

One might suppose that, but the round holes in the bed cross members and the truck frame wouldn't permit much adjustment...........The bolt turning prevention seems like a plausible explanation......- Ronno6
