    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

The ones I get a laugh out of is the campers. 3 or 4 years ago, they way over-paid for a camper. Went camping 1 season and realized every other dimwitt did the same thing and a campground fill of id10ts like them is not camping. So now they want to sell it for whatever they owe on it and because...

    First time "real" painting.

What does the data sheet say? It may take a special paint. I know in my R/C hobby days, (1970's) there was a company that put out a phenominal epoxy paint. K&B Super Poxy. I ran that thru my Paashe airbrush. And painted a flame job on my hovercraft. Good times.

    First time "real" painting.

Update: Hood looks good...I guess. And then the sanding starts. 400g. Took 2-3 hours to sand it baby butt smoof, by hand. I got 1 tiny spec of metal showing thru on one corner...I think the coat was light or hand sand heavy. Other than that, it's flawless. Not 1 dimple. I can't believe it. Fixed...

    First time "real" painting.

So the panels do have stone chips clear to metal with rust starting. No perfs, which totally surprised me. So the 3 coats, was to get enuf on that when I sand down the bdeep spots will get filled snd I really needed the gun time. And yes, just to get the hood painted if I did all the prep work...

    First time "real" painting.

I get the fumes thing. Fortunately, both my nearest neighbors have crntral A/C, so all they smell is their own recycled stank. And the guy 2 doors down, is too busy chain smoking weed (talk about stink) and drinking beer, the only thing he can smell is "failure". We have quite a bit of farming...

    First time "real" painting.

Popped that cherry this afternoon. Other than some airbrush-ing in high school, I've never painted with anything other than a rattle can. And let me just say, "Holy Krap" that $$$$ is expensive. Over $200 just in a quart of urathane primer and all the ******-berries that goes with it. I stopped...

Fix Slamming Doors - Striker Door Latch Repair

Holy moly!! That PEX tube trick worked!! Used an exacto razor saw. It qas a bit of a trick to get them on. Used very long needle nose plyers to open the tubing up. At the first close, the truck muttered something under it's exhsust...couldn't quite make it out...sounded like, "took ya long enuf.."

    Filling small holes without welding

Has anyone tried an aluminum pop rivet or brass counter-sink head screw? Cave the hole inward a bit with a big center punch. Install rivet/screw of right size and use loctite. Hand file and sand level, then bondo. Maybe small copper riviets that require peening? I would think gas welding would...

    Dead in the water.

Well, yesterday went from elation to deflation in a short hurry....but I can still laugh at it. Went to my favorite toy store, Summit Racing, and pruised the "returned" rack, which has been pretty bare lately, and what before my lustful eyes appeared a polished cast aluminum Edelbrock high flow...

    Retiree bronze plaque.

A tad bit off topic and not even GM... But I don't have a ford to get on the board...so here goes : For sale: 2 Bronze Retiree Plaques. These were the master patterns from which all other plaques were made. So yes, these are about 3% larger than the actual plaques Ford retirees received. These...

    OEM Breather replacement

Ok, I have found the metal breather and lid that houses the air filter and the parts houses want over $200 for them. In my OP, I said I wanted to cut off the snorkle part of the breather and patch in a piece of sheet metal to cover the opening, left from the removal of the entire snorkle. I had...

    OEM Breather replacement

Somehow, sucking air in thru a 1-1/2" snorkle opening just doesn't seem fitting for the long tube headers w/ 2-1/2" dual exhaust . And if the factory snorkle was good, why can't I find a replacement in any where? I do appreciate the perspective though.

    OEM Breather replacement

I'm talking about the big round metal can with a lid and a long snorkel. It's usually painted black from the factory and houses a big round air filter which traps dirt from getting into carburator..

Yes, air cleaner that sits on top of carb.

    OEM Breather replacement

I'm looking for a replacement air intake breather that will fit onto the original 4brl quadrajet. I'm wanting to eliminate the snorkel tube, but I don't want to "hack" the original. I'll gladly hack a replacement..lol. Yes, I run the breather lid flipped over. Of the aftermarket breathers I've...

Can the heater core be turned off?

I don't think that would be a good idea if coolant has to circulate before thermostat opens. If you look at your coolant circuit, some circuits use the heater core circuit to circulate some coolant thru pump, which keeps pump from cavitating. My 78 requires coolant to circulate, so I could...

Can the heater core be turned off?

I installed that unit in mine. I did not use the cable. If the dew was heavy in the morning, I just pop the hood and flip the valve to get some defrost heat. Then flip it back at a stop later. Keeps the cab much cooler. I have a thead on here about the install. ...in the "garage" section, I...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Ok...a couple things... If you want real faux carbon fiber, a black sharpie marker, draw straight lines at 45°, 90°, and 90° from the first 2. Sorta in a basket weave pattern. That's premium faux carbon fiber. A coat of clear between line layers givs it real depth. The other thing: annoying CL...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Oh my goodness... I saw the pictures of the flattened pipe and pop can patch and started rolling. When I was going to college, I had an 88 fizo, 300, metric 5 spd. That thing ate exhaust systems like a fat man in a donut shop. I worked night shift in the E.R. and would borrow (without...

    Aux Battery Tray local

So, I have felt along the wire going to the block and I detect no deviations in the wire. It may be further back in the loom. Today, I finally decided where to locate the aux dist block and charging relay. I did not want to drill holes in the inner fender which limited my options. There seemed...

    Aux Battery Tray local

Yes, That is how mine looks. The schematic states "fusable link" in the location of that block, so I assumed that was it. I may be assuming erronously. If that piece of metal with the 2 holes is not the fusable link...where is it?

    Aux Battery Tray local

Well, pooh.. I had not realized there was a link there and because the original looked so...well...old and crusty, I made a copper bridge. 1/8" thick 1/2" wide. That would fuse an average house. I should probably take that back out and get a new one. Yea, good plan...

    Aux Battery Tray local

Fusable link on firewall distribution block... Where do you find the fusable link that goes in the block? The original is part of the wire coming out of the loom from the alt/batt. It's like crimped on the wire. Where do ya find em? Or do ya just use a blade style fuse block?...which would not...
