    I had that happen to me. Oil looked like pancake batter. Heads or block, I'd pull and have them find and fix. Mine was a magnafluxed block that was cracked. I got a few upgrades, 4 bolt main, timing chain etc on them.

    Looks like our PO drilled a couple holes in the breather side baffle. I do know breather filter was pretty dirty/oily. I don't have a pic of baffle side.

    I got it. Sat and played with old distributor. So I'll just loosen the distributor and rotate it counter clockwise and make the next post my #1. This way my rotor stays pointed at piston 1 and I have room to play with timing. Gold star?

    The dizzy, ignition module needs to be pointing more toward firewall. I've just never stabbed one and trying to make sure I understand it.

    Hmm, move dizzy on cam gear. So remove and reinstall 1 or two places counter clockwise? But engine is at TDC, and then rotor won't be pointing to piston one? I am hearing that we can make which ever post we want #1 and go in firing order. I am not getting how to get TDC and rotor pointing at...

    The distributor will hit the mounting post for the coil, as this post sits higher. New distributor is same height as old. I might have 3/8-1/2" if we have to advance distributor timing. Anyone run into with this intake?

    Yeppers, about $300 @ autozone or O'Reillys. Autozone has a duralast std. And heavy duty. O'Reillys has Murry std or heavy duty. All those mentioned above around $75 I have a model# for tuff stuff USA made, but high performance flow. Just under $200. That's why my head a spin and I have trouble...

    Cool, got the long pump, and going new. I have the acdelco model#'s. Any prob with new duralast? Otherwise parts express has acdelco at $200 + shipping.

    Did you also see fan blades in pic? So, it rotates clockwise in drivers seat? So that pushes air into radiator vs pulling?

    I saw a thread, but didn't know what protocol is. I have an ACDelco water pump fixing to put in the rebuilt engine. 1) Clean-up and install? Worry about age. 2) Get a rebuilt? Same ACDelco, they don't seem to make a rebuilt kit...I know I don't need HP. 3) So, is this std. Or reverse? Yes...

    Yes, my distributor diameter is .427, that is .491, so may need new distributor. Gonna lookup part below.
