I can't remember the part number off hand but I'll look later on in my carb manual. I know I couldn't get mine to seal to the intake without it and couldn't stop the vacuum leak.
Edelbrock also suggests a fuel pressure regulator. I put one on my OT car and it cured some of the stumble.
On an off topic vehicle, I had a problem with a vacuum leak and the throttle return problem with a new 1406 carb on a Edelbrock intake. After calling Edelbrock Tech Line, they told me that I need the #2732 carb adapter plate. put that on and there was no problem. I put a straight edge on the...
My wife and I, a niece and her husband and a friend of mine, are going to do the Power Tour East. It will be our first one. Getting the truck ready now.
Long Hauler Pass purchased and hotel rooms booked.
Tank is finally in and working. It was a pain. As I said before the return lines on the truck are 1/4 inch and the nipples on the new switch are 5/16. I ended up getting the 5/16 to 1/4 adapters from JEGS to make it work.
Every switching valve that I could find had 5/16 nipples for the return...
I have an 84 GMC C1500. I had to replace the tank and switching valve. My cover had 3 bolts the 2 towards the back were in from the bottom and the one towards the front was down from the top.
Last night I checked the switching valve as per the factory service manual and it tested good last...
I spoke to a friend who is retired and was a long time mechanic at a now closed GMC Dealer.
To the best of his recolection, it would be one 16 and the auxiliary would be a 20.
The truck is original and isn't a lengthened short bed. Everything spring wise looks to be in the original location...
Thank you everybody for the quick replies.
With the 20 gallon tank in it doesn't have much clearance between the tank flange and the rear spring hanger.
I'll take a look and see what the fill pipe set up looks like on the 16 gallon tank. The fill hoses on the 20 that was in it does look like...
That's what I thought, but in looking up the tank in the LMC catalog it has a note that some Longbeds had a 16 gallon tank as standard, but it doesn't say what year.
I was totally confused after reading that.
I looked on RockAuto and they list a 16 gallon tank but it doesn't specify long or...
I have to change the fuel tank on the passenger side of my 84 C1500 long bed. I measured the old tank and it was a 20 gallon tank and I got a tank from LMC Trucks. I never measured the drivers side tank because no problems with it.
After the instillation problems with the tank, I started...
I am also having the same problem. Original valve has 1/4" Ports for the top two on the side of the valve with 4 ports. I ordered a replacement valve from LMC trucks and the new one has 5/16" ports instead of 1/4".
Lines coming from the tanks on mine are the original 1/4"
Also checked the one...
I know you have a different carb, but I had that problem with my 73 Javelin and a Holley Carb. I put an edelbrock intake and carb on it and still had the problem.
Turned out the intake wasn't milled square and I had a huge vacuum leak. Ended up putting the adapter plate on it to get it to seal...
Just purchased a 1984 GMC C1500 Sierra Grande. It now has a 350 crate motor in it.
Will be getting started exercising the demons that were introduced by previous owners.
