    Talk me out of this...

    Saw a NV3500 5 speed 4x4 trans come up on Facebook marketplace...for $250. Are these any good? It says it worked fine when taken out. Worth the trouble of swapping out my sm465?

    What have you done to your square lately??

    Replaced the alternator in the old girl today. Voltage regulator must have been shot, lots of movement when giving it throttle, ticked up to 18! New one has it steady where it should be. Just in time too, my daily driver Honda is acting up, and my truck saved me getting to work today.

    Just did my rear brakes, new shoes and cylinders, but they won’t bleed! A little fluid trickles out but it doesn’t want to build up any pressure. I believe I need to “reset” my prop valve?     Overheating “slightly” and infrequently

    I’m glad you said this as I’ve been weighing options for replacement. It is original, and there’s a shop by me that will clean and repair for about $120. I’ll stick with it and not spend more on a aftermarket fancy one, thank you!

    Got into the rear brakes. Passenger side is done, new wheel cylinder, shoes and hardware. Got the new flex line in also, and if it’s nice when I get off work tomorrow going to start on the drivers side. Truck was sitting for years before I got it, the cylinders were all locked up.

    I did as you recommended! Aftermarket sensor and gauge and it’s read steady, held at about 190° even when feeding her the beans, glad it was just old gauge and wiring! Now to mount the new one and hook up lights. Thanks guys!

    that’s kind of what I’m thinking. It was just tuned and timing set, all adjusted last week on a fresh rebuild. It’s moving up quite fast when I give it throttle. I’ll start with grounds and a new gauge and see what she does!
