Just started on the vent window overhaul
Looks good. I was looking at your pictures, I thought the rubber was supposed to spread around/outside the door frame channel, instead of inside the door frame channel, when installed. I'm getting ready to do mine also.- VAL

Just bought a 1995 GMC C1500
Well, I've put about 500 miles on the truck, I'm still trying to figure out the scraping sound on the tranny. Still has that pulsing forward movement while at stop lights in gear. I got a tranny filter and pan gasket(bad leak all over cross member) that I'm gonna try. I also noticed the truck...- VAL

Those little parts were only in the front passenger side, I did check for any play in the rotors, they seem to be fine, driver side front is a little tighter than the passenger side, when you rotate the rotors by hand. As far as the coolant leak, it hasn't leaked since. I think it might be the...- VAL

So, the truck is running awsome, no more noise fron the cat. Although I still have a noise comming from somewhere, like a subtle scraping, everytime I put it in gear, also the subtle Jerking at stop lights when I let off the brake and inch it forward. I've already put 347 miles on the truck...- VAL

Yesterday while I was out driving it around, I also noticed that, when at a stop light, with your foot on the brake, it idles just fine. When you slightly let off the brake and inch it forward, it wants to lunge/tug a bit. Transmission?- VAL

Ok guys, here's a new one for ya. I have a coolant leak between the back of the engine and the transmission somewhere. When I bought the truck and towed it home, there was a box with an old water pump in the back seat. PO said he had it changed out before the engine seized. I'm hoping the ass...- VAL

Yup, you called it! The rattling is completely gone. I still have somewhat of a a rough idle, but I have an O2 sensor, cap & rotor, and new plug wires coming in from RockAuto Auto. Hopefully it'll cure that. Meanwhile, I'll be driving it around some, to uncover the next surprise.- VAL

I'm gonna take it to the exhaust shop in the morning for a new cat. Like you mentioned earlier in the thread, the bad cat is probably responsible for the cracked exhaust manifolds also.- VAL

I'm gonna check all that tomorrow. But I did crawl under there, and I'm fairly certain its coming from the inside of the cat converter. But why would it do it only in gear, is my question? I put my hand on the guard plate, and it feels like something is loose in there, plus the rough idle, and...- VAL

So, I got the truck running with zero exhaust leaks, and it's running very good. Has a little rough idle, but maybe it's just the bad gas mixed in with the new gas in the tank. I got it on the freeway today, was doing 70mph no problems at all. I do however, got this rattling noise going on, only...- VAL

I put the bracket back in it place like it was, I had to reuse the original bolts for that. Put in a set of gaskets on it, when I pulled off the old cracked manifolds, they had no gaskets on either side. Im going to get some new gasket rings, I don't know what their called, to hook up the Y pipe...- VAL

Yeah, there's strict emissions requirements here in AZ. Your emissions exempt if you live in certain parts of some countys, Native reservations ect. Unfortunately, I'm in the city, and they want their sacred fees.- VAL

I got it all buttoned up, got it looking all healed up again. I went ahead with the grade 8 bolts with thick hardened washers. I figure, if this truck turns out to be a good runner/dd, I'll eventually go with some nice headers, and true dual exhaust, down the road. But I'm definitely gonna go...- VAL

Yeah, thanks Tony, I was checking out the video, very helpful. I borrowed an EZ out from a freind that has a machine shop, that I'm gonna use. It's a good quality one. As soon as I get this bolt out, I'm going to pull the O2 sensor out, and I'm gonna stick that scope camera in there to look at...- VAL

I removed the inner fender sheild yesterday, it looks like I'm gonna have a straight shot at getting the broken bolt out. I don't think it'll be a problem getting the angle drill with a short bit, in there.- VAL

Just pick this drill up, hopefully I'll be able to get it in that tight spot against the firewall. I also pick up a transfer punch set, and an automatic center punch. If the automatic punch works, ill return the 28 piece set. If not I'm stuck with both. Where's a good place to get quality ez...- VAL

I'm headed over to harbor freight now, they got a pneumatic angle drill for $35, I'm gonna get the ez outs from somewhere else though, gonna need a quality set. Don't want to take a chance with a cheapo set breaking off in the bolt.- VAL
