    It might have a little rust, dirt holding it in there. Mine was the same way, I just tapped on it all the way around, loosened things up a bit, then it should just pull out. Remember to remove the end off the steering gear first.

    Yeah, I thoroughly bled the system, its working really well, at high idle and cruising speeds. its at idle, at a dead stop where there's no assist. I'm gonna take it back tomorrow and get another one, and see how it goes.

    So yesterday I put in a new power steering pump in my truck. It cured my right side pull. But today I have no assist at idle, I have to rev the engine to get it to assist, but works great cruising. Bad reman pump?

    Ok, so my a/c has been working fine for two weeks after the conversion. Today my cold air only works at idle, on the freeway at a higher RPM, it blows warm.

    steering pulling to right

    My truck has been pulling to the right for a couple of years now. After reading this thread, I decided to go by a new steering pump just for the hell of it. I removed the old pump, installed the new one, took it out for a spin, and "I AM SHOCKED"! no more pulling to the right. Fuggin' unbelievable!

    It just seemed odd to me that this was happening. Before I put on the current filter, I had one of those glass/see through type ones. It was always on full and never did this.

    Yeah, I suspected something was up with it. At first it filled it up good, then all of a sudden it was barely spittin'. Its got me wondering, cause its been running fine just like that.

    So I put this alternator in my truck, its an alt that goes on a 1990 Cadillac Seville, 120 amps. Don't know whether its a CS130 or a CS144. Bolted right up with minor mods to the brackets. I'm still waiting for my adaptor to come in the mail tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a big improvement...

    You can lift a squarebody up to 3", and not need any steering correction. Anything above that you'll need some kind of correction. Best way to tell is, looking at the springs, tire size and fender clearance. I've seen stock trucks run 33's, and that's pushing it. Or you can check and see if...

    when the leaf spring bends down towards the ground at the ends, that's negative arch, when they curl up, that's positive arch.

    After you depress the button, pull the knob out, more than likely you'll turn on your parking & headlamps. Then gently push it back in just far and hard enough to turn off the lights, but not engage the release button , then pull it back out.
