    Irregular valve tip wear pattern

I had to do a lot of justifying to the old lady as to why I needed a 632 and come to think about it, I don't think I came up with enough. Lol

    Irregular valve tip wear pattern

Yeah, I bet the 306 is a real vacuum robber. Mine is a split duration 258 intake and 268 exhaust. The brakes work well as long as you don't pump them. The small block was about the same as the big block.

    Irregular valve tip wear pattern

Actually there are other factors that are way above my head that might cause this sort of problem. Valve guide worn, incorrect machine work to the spring pockets, and I think there is also a clearance problem with the rocker stud boss on vortex heads with a large cam. I've also read that they...

    Irregular valve tip wear pattern

As I said before, that's a lot of cam for the street. You can probably contact someone like RHS and they can install the correct springs you need for that cam or at least tell you what you need. They have a pretty good product. If those rockers had valve lash, the only other thing that might...

    Cooling issue

My bad. I thought he was checking sender only. You probably need a new thermostat. Here's a link that might help. https://www.americanautowire.com/view-faq/general-motors-temperature-gauge-troubleshooting/

    No Start Situation

As long as the spark plugs are not fouled and the ign is firing, the fuel down the tb should have resulted in something.

    Cooling issue

Not sure why you would need a variable resistor to check resistance.

    Irregular valve tip wear pattern

Before you removed the rockers, was there any valve lash at all. Definitely looks they were adjusted to tight. If you have the means, I would get rid of the vortec and get some good heads?

    Aftermarket EFI

To use the fitec efi system you will need to upgrade your fuel pump. I used an aeromotive 340lpg 90psi pump. The efi unit has a built in regulator and needs at least a 58psi fuel pump. I used the factory fuel lines including the return line. It needs to have a square bore intake so no adapters...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

An easy way to verify the coil is firing is to remove a plug wire and have someone to try and start it while holding the plug wire close (1/2 inch or so) to the exhaust manifold or something metal on the engine and see if it sparks. I've seen timing chains jump a tooth or two and not backfire...

    Bucket seat covers

My son picked up some at wal mart but I wouldn't say they fit nice and tight. Might try lmc trucks. They might have some that are vehicle specific.

76 C10 steers easy to right hard to the left

Fluid flow is controlled inside the steering gear. Since it turns good in one direction and not the other, I would think the problem is in the steer gear. Welcome to the forum.

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

How many miles are on the engine? Has the timing chain ever been replaced?

Can't Decide if TCC/TCC Solenoid Is Bad

*On a warm vehicle, plenty. It'll do well until it hits fourth gear. If I keep accelerating through to interstate speeds, it'll be okay, but if I hang around at say 40 mph and try to accelerate from there, the car will buck, shudder, and chug like crazy. If I let it kickdown to third, it'll do...

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Yon know, that crazy vacuum advance didn't cross my mind. I haven't used one in 25 plus years. Yeah it needs to be somewhat close or you may not be able to time it.

    No Start Situation

Thx chengny. That's what I was saying. Shouldn't be a timing issue since the chain was recently changed. I agree that fuel pressure check would be the next move.

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

Yeah, I've done it before too. Some time's it's a bitch to get it all lined up. Just drop it in, get #1up on compression and see where it points and wire it up. Easy.

    Ignition HELP! [solved]

You can put the #1plug wire anywhere you want as long as the rotor is pointing at it on #1 compression stroke and your wires will reach where they need to. Might save the trouble of trying to look down the dist hole.

    Heater hose routing

T That's the one I have. I didn't seem to have a problem with it heating up. I've had it in since Feb. I'm going to get a radiator shroud with 2 elec fans. I have a large 3row alum rad. They make a shroud with fans for it. Let me know how the stat works for you.

    Heater hose routing

It has no valve in either hose to core. I also have a pre drilled t-Stat that's suppose to let it bypass. I think I need to put a regular t-Stat in. It wants to run a little warm when idling. To much circulation.

Need help with engine bay wiring

If you go to autozone website and sign in, there are ele schematics for your truck on there. You will have to search around a bit to find the one you need.

    Finding cracked block/head

Remove the spark plugs and see if one ore more are extra clean. If so, it's probably the head gasket or possibly cracked head. I've heard those engines are prone to crack the heads??? You can also do a compression test to find which cyl is having the issue.
