    I've heard the in line pumps are pretty noisy unless well isolated. I have an aeromotive intank pump that's very quiet and costs around 100 bucks.

    Before I spent that much for parts, I would look at a crate engine unless you just want to build it yourself. Also get a warranty.

    Pertronix makes a plate with a magnetic pickup mounted to it that makes an electronic ign out of it. I use to change them out in old forklifts when there was dist. problems. Probably find one on their site.

    You probably need a stroker oil pan. Have the oil pan rails on the block been clearanced ?

    From what I've read, the tbi distributor is already locked out and the rotor is fazed. That's just what the aftermarket efi makers want if you elect to use the system that has timing control. They don't mention the tbi dizzy though. They all seem to think that msd is the only dizzy to get.

    Yeah the solid lift small block I had was loud also. The tall valve covers muffled it some and the 40 series mufflers dumped at the rear axle pretty much took care of the valve noise.
