    Best Universal Joint Brand/Type

I use the ones without the zert. I want the strongest ones possible with the torque my engine produces. I'm still using the factory rear joint which has no zert and 150k miles.

No need to heat. A few sharp raps with a 4lb hammer and they pop right out.

They claim, whatever brand, that the ones without the grease zero are the strongest.

Hot cold hot cold goes the heat in my truck.

This is how I had my heater hoses on a sbc and it worked great. One from the intake. The other to the radiator.

Hot cold hot cold goes the heat in my truck.

Scratch the valve question. Thanks Honky Kong, I didn't know. I worked for a used dealer in the early 80s and there were a lot of problems with the vacuum switches on the controls.

I've never owned a square but have worked on some. Does it have a heater control valve in one of the heater core hoses? Do you hear any vacuum hissing sound at the controls?

    Carb Issues - PLEASE HELP

Try setting the idle mixture screws 1 1/2 turns out and see if it will idle in gear. If you adjust the idle screw to far out it will render the idle mixture screws useless but you should be able to get it to idle around 800 rpms without uncovering the idle transfer slots in the lower venturies...

    Carb Issues - PLEASE HELP

The idle mixture screws may need to be turned out (counter clockwise) to stop it from stalling. Is this the 87 truck your working on? Did it have a tbi engine with a 700r4 originally?

Soon it will be out with old and in with new.

    Carb Issues - PLEASE HELP

If it has no choke tower then that's probably what's causing the low idle on cold start up. After warm up it should idle around 750 to 850 rpms.

    Rocker issue

Measure the lift and compare it to one of the other lobes. That should give you an idea if the cam is damaged.

That is a fairly common issue with that style pushrod. I always use the one piece style.
