    Intellitronix digital dash

Here it is after the Calibration Button is fixed... Was wrong about how the performance data is recorded.. It's automatic... The button is used to recall the data... I'll post a video of that in the future... Intellitronix Digital Dash Video #2

    speedo gear replacement

How hard is it to replace the speedo gear (TH 350)? Major or minor project? I have inconsistent readings (it's at the tranny)... Thanks, Mark

    Filling Trim holes

What's the best way to fill trim mounting holes on body panels? Do I just slap some bondo on there, sand, and not worry about it? Or is it better, or worth the trouble to try to fill them in with my wirefeed welder? Never really tried to weld on body panels before (don't have TIG at this...

    Hood Spring(s), Hood, or???

When I first got the truck, and repaired the door hinge and adjusted the driver's side door, we tried to adjust the hood but could not get it to stop doing this... The bolt holes are not stripped... I suspect it is the spring, but I'm not sure, and don't really want to shotgun trouble shoot it...

    Hood Spring(s), Hood, or???

Oops, sorry! I deleted the attachments as they were duplicates... and since the images still displayed for me, I thought all was well.. I guess not... Here they are again, in order corresponding with the OP..

    Intellitronix digital dash

I still gotta deal with the problem in the tranny with the 'iffy' speedo gear (causes inconsistent readings both with the factory gauge and the new digital one).. But that's gonna take a bit of research.. In the mean time, I'm gonna download a speedo app for my cell phone, so I can compare...

    Intellitronix digital dash

As far as the Digital Dash Push button problem goes, moving the push button wires around did not resolve the problem... took the button out of the dash (in case it was shorting through the button), and that didn't help.. Feeling kind of bummed, that now I might have to take everything apart...

    Hood Spring(s), Hood, or???

SO, now that I've got things kinda sorted out and the truck on the road, I want to deal with the way the hood closes, as it's been bugging me.. The back driver side corner (near the window) doesn't close all the way, not even getting under the pin/stud at that point... Is this the hinge? Is...

    Installing hood release

Hmmmm.... Not sure if I'd prefer that over the kind you just release from inside the cab with a pull handle, but that is interesting.. I'm guessing it is meant to be mounted in the cab? Thanks Mark

    Intellitronix digital dash

Sort of.. I tested it the night before, and when pushing the button to go into odometer or cal mode, it worked fine, but after taking it out for a drive, and driving over a pothole filled dirt road to get to the highway, when I pressed the button, the speedometer would go dark, and then...

    Seat cover woes...

At the very least, can someone confirm that LMC's version actually fits?

    Seat cover woes...

Bought one of those heavy duty tweed universal fit seat covers from NAPA.. Thing fits for :poop: Not wide enough bottom portion, which is also too short also (have to reach into the slats intended for the seat belts to reach them)... Anyone know of a tweed seat cover source that will...

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

The Radiator, hoses and heater core hoses all look brand new.. I suspect that the reason all those heater duct parts were missing is because someone replaced the core...

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

Okay cool! I figured it was probably supposed to be that way, as that would be a crazy way to 'fail'.. As far as blower speed, I guess I probably shouldn't worry about that either as the cab gets hot in a hurry when the heater is on...

    Intellitronix digital dash

Some teaser pics So got the dash installed.. Until I can get around to doing a complete write up on the whole process, here's a couple pictures.. Digging it so far... glad I went with red... Installed red LEDs for the wiper and AC controls too...

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

I do have another question though... The fan switch works in that I can select low, med, and high, and hear and feel the change in fan speed (although it seems like high should be higher than it is, but not sure), but when I set it all the way to low, and then switch the top slider to 'off'...

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

Yeah, I was hoping that the valve opened in such a way that the thing would drop out through the heat outlet to the floor.. But it doesn't.. Short of maybe fishing a magnet on a string/wire down there, the socket is probably part of the truck now... Definitely not going to go through the...

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

Nope, can't get the socket back.. The door doesn't so what I thought (hoped) it did... Only way I'll be able to get it back is to remove the valve and door... Not even sure how that is done....

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

NEVERMIND! I found where it connects.. There's a vacuum reservoir next to the AC stuff with a fitting on the bottom... All the controls work now.. :party36:

What fitting do I need to apply vacuum to the system?

Restoring the AC/Heat system on my squarebody... Just noticed that the little hard vacuum line that comes through the firewall into the engine bay is no hooked up to anything... Where is this line generally hooked up to? Can I tee into the vacuum advance line for the distributor...

In the home stretch.. Then disaster strikes...

Always wanted a car or truck that had a one piece tilt up front clip... But they're freaking pricey! :o But when I build my rat rod, it won't even have a hood or fenders! One of the reasons I want to build one... That and they're cheap and fun... ;)

In the home stretch.. Then disaster strikes...

So, the roughness and backfiring were due to having two plug wires reversed... That's what I get for pushing myself when I was tired and frazzled... Fortunately, the two wires were right next to each other on the cap, so no rerouting of wires was required... Actually ran a lot better than...

In the home stretch.. Then disaster strikes...

Absolutely! and I am thankful how it worked out (coulda been a lot worse).. My legs aren't quite so thankful though.. But they'll get over it! :gathering:

In the home stretch.. Then disaster strikes...

Yes, but that whole episode sucked badly! Had a die, so I just extended the threads that remained where it snapped... And I can hardly walk today after spending so much time sitting in the engine bay.. BUT... I'm almost completely done in there! Just gotta add a couple wires to the harness...
