    Back to intermittent wipers..

Dude! Thanks so much for that... Sounds like I might have a relay issue.. The switch is brand new (but I'll ring it out), and the module is supposed to have been bench checked, so all that's left is the wiring and the relay... I rewired the truck, but for the wiper system, I just cut off...

    Back to intermittent wipers..

So I bought a used Pulse Module from gmachinz (some sort of paypal snafu caused a 5 week delay in the transaction?).. But it got here finally about a week ago.. Yay! Then I bought a new pulse switch for a 79 chevy C10 at Oreilly's earlier in the week, plugged the module in a little earlier...

    Back to intermittent wipers..

Cool.. Let me finish paying all my bills, so I can see where I'm at.. Probably buy in a couple days depending on how the CC thing works, otherwise in about a week.. If it's guaranteed working condition, consider it sold... How come nobody makes these aftermarket/replacement? Seems like it...

Does that price include shipping? Thanks, Mark

    Back to intermittent wipers..

The electrical spade lugs on my motor for the pump are broken off... I either have to replace the pump/motor, or install an aftermarket pump/reservoir and wire over to that... If I decide to go the route of replacing the motor, I'm assuming I just get the exact same one I already have...

    Back to intermittent wipers..

I'd be interested in this, but I won't be able to re load my pay pal acct till a couple days after the end of the month... Unless there's a way to buy now with a debit card? Are you the guy that makes the custom/factory harnesses?

    Back to intermittent wipers..

Thanks Dave.. But what do I order? What are those out of? (year, make, model, etc.? or are they aftermarket?) Will it work with my existing motor, and if I want to replace the wiper/washer motor, I can just order the exact same one that's in there now? Thanks, Mark

    Back to intermittent wipers..

The hard part is just figuring out what to order.. What parts I need... Help.. :Stupid Me:

    Back to intermittent wipers..

So I tried using a cheap after market solution to add intermittent wipers to my 73-79 Chevy C-10 (Wiring/cab appears to be '79) and that didn't work... It wouldn't park the wipers.. Looked at those intermittent wiper modules they have on places like LMC where ya gotta move the wiper switch back...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

So, since I last posted here, had more brake problems.. After replacing the wheel cylinders and calipers, while on a trip down into the valley on a very hot day, I realized that my real brakes were not releasing after being depressed, and the truck was still pulling to the left when I hit the...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

@ $20 each, I'll just replace them.. Thinking about replacing the prop valve and all four flex lines too... Already budgeting for at least the calipers next month.. Will replace the pads too... and yeah, good point about the bolts and pins.. I'll replace those too..

So much nicer to be on the 'fixed' end of things than on the WTF end! :dogpile:

It's the standard Air Compressor stuff.. I know where several are.. thanks!

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Teeing into the heater line works fine for now.. Thing stops on a dime.. The pulling isn't bad at all, but I'll work on it in the coming weeks and get rid of it.. Total cost on the brake repair so far is about $165, and that includes upgrading to power brakes.. Truck warms up quickly and...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Booster problem solved.. Went and tried to blow into the PB line to the check valve.. Blocked (as it's supposed to be).. Took out the check valve end from the booster and blew that direction.. Blocked too! Went and got the new check valve I'd bought for the other booster and blew in it from...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Would have cost me about 50% more to just have it towed there than what I paid in parts.. and I barely have the money for this as it is.. I don't think the check valve can be put in backwards, but it's not (it came pre installed and there's only barbs for the hose on one end..) I don't...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Okay, I have brakes again.. Really took my time bench bleeding the new MC.. Put the new booster in, installed the MC, and bled all the brakes again.. Unfortunately, the dust boot wasn't included with the new booster, so I called down to the auto parts store and had them pull the one that was...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

So, I got into town today and bought a brand new master cylinder and booster drum for a 79 C10.. This 'should' be what I need to get the truck back on the road.. if not, there's only about another 100-120 bucks I have to spend before I have replaced 'all' of the hydraulics on this thing except...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Yeah, I still have the diagrams and color legends from when I rewired the truck... I've tried inserting the relay in three different places on the low speed circuit, and this little board just isn't gonna work with the older GM switch/motor... That I can figure out anyway.. The aftermarket...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

I give up... I took the master cylinder off and bench bled it, and the back port pumped out fluid real good, but hardly any came out of the front port (larger line - rear brakes?), and when it did it was only about every third push of the piston.. Put it back on the truck and tried bleeding...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Okay, so it's not the push rod length.. I took the mounting nuts off the master cylinder, and when I push on the pedal, I can feel it being pushed off of the booster (and hear it drag on the studs) within about a quarter inch of pedal travel... So that's eliminated... I don't think it's the...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

So, put the new master cylinder in, bled the brakes, and hooked up the vacuum.. Have brakes in reverse, but barely in forward.. I had to back the adjuster off on one side some to get the drum back on, so adjustment might part of that problem... Still pulls to the right.. I forgot to check how...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Well, got a ride into town, got a remanufactured Master cylinder... Went in well, fit perfect... bled it... cleared snow away from the rear tires, jacked it up, pulled the wheel, the drum, fashioned up something I could use to do the 'one man bleed' method.. Then proceeded to break the zerk off...

Bolt size confusion and stuck master cylinder

Nice! I think I'm gonna stop by Harbor Freight while down there and pick up a cheap flex handle ratchet.. That should help a 'lot!'
