    Thanks!

Where is the tank selector valve supposed to be?

I am rewiring my 73 chevy c10.. Trying to add wiring so that I can install the other tank and get the dual tank setup working... The switch is in the dash, and I have the second tank, ready to install.. I'm told that the selector valve is missing.. all the plumbing is there, but no...

    Windshield interchangability

Are the windshields from all 73-87 square bodies interchangeable? Thanks, Mar

    Power to proportional valve? How?

Okay, great! So, if my current cluster doesn't have a warning light, then I can add make one one later when I do the upgrade to power brakes... Just a light is all I would have to connect it to, right?

What is this box on the diagram?

So now I'm confused... lol The 'late model' diagram shows one of the wires on the modular plug going to the terminal where the big red output wire attaches.. Does that sound like the way things should work? If so, why didn't they do that on the original? Thanks, Mark

    Okay, what is this for?

So, is the extra pair of contacts on the brake switch to notify the cruise control that the brake has been pushed? Any idea about the wire on the proportioning valve? Thanks, Mark

What is this box on the diagram?

EZ Wire instructions show three types of charging systems.. late model alternator, early model alternator, and generator... Mine had three wires going to it.. two that used a modular plug that plugged directly into the top of the alternator, and one heavy one (I assume is the output) that...

    Okay, what is this for?

Also there was a brown wire coming from the power brake proportioning valve (mounted on the frame near the radiator).. Don't currently have power brakes, but the cab has the bolt pattern that says it came with them, and I also have the booster/master cylinder off of a donor 88 suburban that I...

    Power to proportional valve? How?

As I was removing the front harness in preparation for rewiring my 73 chevy C10 (frame is later year, but don't know what), there was a brown wire coming from the power brake proportioning valve (mounted on the frame near the radiator).. Don't currently have power brakes, but the cab has the...

    Okay, what is this for?

As I was removing the existing wiring harness in preparation for a rewire, I came across this.. Doesn't appear to have been hooked to anything.. There was a couple wires taped to a rubber hose that when through the firewall, and on the cab end terminated in some sort of switch.. The hose goes...

    What are these wires for?

This truck is apparently somewhat of a frankenstein machine.. The chassis, cab, and bed are all from different years... Well, that's encouraging! There is a donor truck (88 suburban) out in the woods not too far from here that locals have been stealing parts from for some time... If it still...

    What are these wires for?

I thought about that as a last resort, but such operations usually don't so well.. Once in a while they do, but it is the exception and not the rule... But yeah, I'm gonna try that if it comes down to it..

    What are these wires for?

Removing all the wiring from my truck in preparation for a rewire... Being as careful as I can, but well... :banghead: Trying to remove a plug from the wiper/washer and broke a connecting tab on the pump... LMC wants a fortune for a new pump... $75 Hoping maybe there's a way that I...

    Electronic/HEI conversion

Who did you get it from?
  15. R8rPhan

    Where to get these parts....

Well, went out and looked at the suburban today.. Somebody had already taken the ducting I needed... But I did get a power brake booster and master cylinder off of it.. and a nice tow hitch... So I guess I'm gonna have to make a plenum for my heater system..

    TH350 to 700r4 swap

Are there like bolt holes there already, or do I slide it back and drill new ones, or what?

New (to me) Truck, needs rewire...

Is it okay to use regular old #14-#16 THHN house wire for the various grounds... I have 'tons' of house wire around here, and would rather not buy wire specifically for grounds if I can get away without doing so.... Thanks, Mark

    Electronic/HEI conversion

Also, Should I be looking at changing to a different plug type and/or gap with the new ignition system?

    TH350 to 700r4 swap

I am running a carb now, and plan to replace it with a TBI (probably the FiTech unit).. but not sure which will come first the TBI or the tranny... What do I need to get for that, to make the TV cable work right? Also, does someone make an aftermarket cross member for the conversion, or is...

    Which fuel sender to get?

73 Chevy C10, 327ci, Auto Trans, Long bed/Fleetside The truck is set up for dual tanks, only one is installed (but I have the other one).. No selector valve, but switch is still in the dash... So 'at some point' in the not too distant future, I will be installing a selector valve and the other...

    Home Made Security System

73 Chevy C10, 327ci, long bed/fleetside I want to add an aftermarket alarm system, but in addition to that I want to add some 'home made' security to the truck, so that potential thieves don't know where to look for the solution to the truck not starting... Two obvious systems are...

    Electronic/HEI conversion

Oh! Another question... Will I need better wires because of the voltage, or will stock style ones work fine? Thanks, Mark

    Electronic/HEI conversion

Ahhh, okay that! This is one of the reasons I am leaning towards replacing the whole distributor instead of doing a points conversion... Same with wanting to use the command center when I buy the HiTech TBI.. I plan on putting together an emergency kit that has the existing distributor...
