TH350 Slips in Drive but will back up

I think they take up to 10 quarts if the converter was drained also. Just agreeing 4 may not have been enough.

    Hypothetical SBC question

Granville King was the author, IIRC. Either 4 Wheeler or 4 Wheel and Off Road mag. Used to subscribe to both I high school. You remember when there was no interweb and you actually had to look at books and magazines for info?

TH350C been sitting a few years

Matt69olds, can you recommend a rebuild kit for the TH350 for just average use, not high hp applications? Thinking about trying it on a spare th350 I may put in my new 1970C20 project. Not trying to hijack the thread, but thought it was relevant. Thanks for the help you routinely give here.

    12valve/nv4500 into 79’ K30

We needed a new engine in a car at work years ago. Local shop that we used quotes $4100 for a sbc (just the engine, no labor). I told our lot guy that was high and to call and see what the local chevy dealer wanted for a new factory long block. They say $2400. He says "great, can we order...

What have you done to your square lately??

You have much better technique than me then. I bought a new windshield for $110 delivered to my local LKQ. Took a friend and I about 30-40 minutes to install it. I then spent 45 minutes getting about 16" of the lockstrip installed. Finally gave up and ordered the tool. When it arrived , I...

Should be. The burb kept the same body through 91, where the trucks stopped in 87.

Instrument gauge cluster bulb replacement.. now no left turn lights?

As stated above, led bulbs can be polarity sensitive. Also, I believe some take a special led flasher unit.

What have you done to your square lately??

Changed out the drivers door latch. 4 hours to remlve, refurb, and replace. I agree fully with the statement that all engineers should be cursed to work on what they designed for eternity.

    Air Conditioning Delete

Mine was butchered when my son got it, and he then pulled everything off that was in the engine compartment, including the box. I pulled the cab side plenum box out of a non-ac parts truck and swapped it into my ac truck, complete with the controls. Then on the engine side, I just swapped in...

Stick,Mig, Carbon Arc, Gas, and now Tig. Let's talk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't many of the victory ships disappear from what was believed to be catastrophic failures attributed to welding issues? Not criticizing as the logistics of completing a ship in a weeks time is beyond amazing. Going from memory of a tv doc years ago.

Bought a 1986 K10, truck died while driving today.

Thanks for clarifying my post. I meant to say ground the plug while in the plug wire boot once pulled.

Bought a 1986 K10, truck died while driving today.

You checked for fuel, so next check for spark. The ignition modules are known weak points. You can pull a plug and ground it while cranking the engine. My 83 did the same thing while I was rebuilding it. Always started fine, then one day nothing. Ignition module was dead. It is inside the...

another mysterious, 30 year old truck noise thread LOL

My vote is the ps pump too. Can you pull the belt off and go old school on a back road to see if the noise goes away?

1985 Chevrolet k20 wiper motor does not work

Napa has them for my 83 , $65. Probably the same for yours. Should be available at any parts store, rock auto, etc. Won't be to original gm, but you are going to have trouble finding many NOS parts for our try is that aren't astronomically priced.

    Rag Joint removal faux pas

I believe there are a couple of plastic pins that hold the inner and outer column indexed. They were made that way so they would shear easily in a front end collision, allowing it to collapse within itself, and not drive the column into the drivers chest. I don't think it is an issue if you...

    Mounting tires at home

I guess I have low standards. I've had the harbor freight tool for probably 10 years and used it more times than I can remember. Yes, the bead breaker sucks, but I like not having to work on the ground. It was well worth the $40 I spent on it.
