Looking for a decent bench seat cover that doesn't break the bank...

It is held on with several straps with plastic buckles on them, and woven laces on the sides to cinch them tight. Probably the only seat covers I have ever used that don't come loose, ever. Fairly easy to remove.

Nice. What are your plans for It? Just pulled parts off a 70 and trashed the rest. Saying it was rough is an understatement.

    New Air Compressor

I picked up a couple of Husky 7hp 60gal an CL several years ago for $200ea. One for the shop and one for the garage. Much quieter and more useful than the oilless Craftsman I had for years.

Need some Expertize for paint job

Guess it depends. When I did my K20, I did the interior and complete exterior, minus the inside of the bed (raptor liner ). It took one gallon of color and one gallon of clear. When doing 2 stage, you thin the paint 2-1, so you get 2 gallons of sprayable product.

6" lift what wheel and tire size can I fit? I want 35's but don't know how wide of a tire and rim i can fit.

I have the same 315/75R16 on my 83 K20 with a 4" Rough Country lift. I believe they are considered a 34" tall tire. No rubbing. It's my dd and I'm not an avid off-roader, so i dont know what hapoens when you flex it out.

    Adhesive remover

Any reason you don't want to use the eraser wheel? I used one on the old trim adhesive on a bed I painted and it worked fine.

    69 C10

Nice progress. I haven't made much progress on my 70 for the last year. It actually had 2x4s for rockers. Lots of patch panels, which I luckily got before all the supplies dried up. Keep up the good work.

    Truck left me stranded today.

Don't forget the filter in the inlet of the carb.

    Favorite Project Truck Sales Pitches

Drove 4 hours to look at a 69 C10. Was told "engine runs strong". As I drove up, I could see the starter hanging just off the ground by the main wire. Popped the hood and the heads and intake were missing. I said "runs strong"? He says "well, it will once you put it together".

    Help with fuel guage problems

The general rule is if it reads below empty (9 oclock) the unit is grounded out. If it reads last full (3 oclock), it is an open circuit.

Oil pressure question… or two questions

You are assuming the factory gauge and sender areaccurate. After changing the sender in mine twice, I put a mechanical gauge in it. Gm crate engine with unknown miles and maintenance. 40 on cold startup and 30 warm.

    Fuel gauge repair HELP

Sounds like it. That shows the gauge is working, and tells me the wiring is good. I have had several bad sending units with open circuits over the years.

    Fuel gauge repair HELP

Past full means you have an open circuit. Usually means a bad connection, broken wire, or bad sending unit. Needle past empty is grounded.

    DIY Raptor Bed-liner

I used on mine about 3 years ago. Overall, I'm happy with it. Looks good, but longevity isn't anywhere near the commercial jobs. The raptor will scrape off if I drag a piece of metal with any sharp edge. I also slide 25gal propane tanks over the tailgate and it will wear through.

    Mounting tires at home

Thanks for the link. Looks like a decent design other then the flimsy bar. May have to do some experimenting. My current project is a 1970 C20 I have swapped an 84 C10's running gear into. I have some used BFG 31's in going to mount on the ralleys.

    Radiator removal

You will need to pull the fan first. Once out, I pull the staples and replace them with two 5\16" x1" bolts so you can easily pull the top separately in the future. Comes in handy when working on the belts, changing ps pump, water pump, etc. And welcome.

    Bed liner yes or no

    I have a 99 Dodge Cummins, a 50 Ford F1, my 83 Square, and my newest project, a 1970 Chevy C20. I don't discriminate by brand.

    Bed liner yes or no

I used it in my 83. Looks good, very grippy, but not nearly as heavy or rugged as the commercial spray in types. Of course, it only cost me $50, as opposed to $400+ for a commercial job. I have a rubber mat in my Dodge, and that would still be my first choice.

    Going price for 8' beds

I just parted out an 84 to use in my 70. Box was rough and couldn't get a call at $75. Ended up pulling it apart to keep the near perfect floor. Cut a filler door for TheFishBox 's project, and scrapped the rest. Finally got $50 for a good cab and frame.
