No crank, no start
Your purple wire is the ignition switch start wire when you turn the key to the start position you will have 12 volts + on this wire until you release it. When you release it you have power going to your distributor sending 12 volt to the distributor. Your pickup control module turns the on and...- mshawn

Welcome from Malvern,Ar I have and 1984 GMC Jimmy 4x4 high Sierra 6.2L I’m sure later you will need 6.2L help. Reach out to me. Also the steering slop could be a broken frame at the steering box. Anybody recognize these seats?
Southern conversions made seats like that. I remember when I was working at Chevrolet dealership back in the 80s it was an option the dealer would add. We were always installing those things. Comfy seats thou!!!! -

Haynes manual suggest silicone dielectric grease for ignition module?
Dielectric grease will work fine!!! The thermal paste was used later on and eventually replaced electric grease. Both will work. Thermal paste is better in the long run. As dielectric grease heats up, turn to more of a liquid in High temps. It does it’s job but at a cost. Thermal paste stays...- mshawn

Trailer brakes
Electronic brake controller has nothing to do with your rear brakes on your truck, they are controlled by brake fluid. You more than likely have leak axel seal that have leaked on the rear brakes and now they are grabbing. Pull rear tires and drum and see what it looks like in there -

Opinions please on possible use for zinc oil additive
Amsoil!!! The best protection on the market!!!!amsoil for older classic car is very high in zinc also their website talks about cold starts in the northern states and how to battle it.- mshawn

1983 k5 blazer starter grinding!
And put the starter nose bracket on when you’re finished! This will eliminate starter walk and broke bolts or worst cracked starter mounting ear on the block!- mshawn

Issues with Ignition 83 K30...HELP?!
This is so common! Back in the 80s and 90s on to the 2000s I had more of these pulled in for this problem and yes the rack is broken. I hope this helps to confirm what others have said here.- mshawn

1979 Chevy Radio wires
There is another way. This seems to be a problem in people knowing what wires on the truck to use for the connection. Some times in these square bodies things are so jacked up I have to run wires on my own to the fuse box and create my own circuits . Not hard to do either. Even my own speaker...- mshawn
