    Suburban Barn Door Interior Trim

Wow! power lock and defroster, that would be sick to have, I haven't seen too many on barn doors, but I have seen that 4 plunger switch before in the salvage yards before, I guess I never put the two together. I will check next time I'm out there if one has it, but most barn doors I've seen are...

    Suburban Barn Door Interior Trim

Oh okay, I have seen this before, just couldn't picture it because my burb only has the door switch for the interior dome light, it doesn't have 4 - what are those for? Speaker connections or something? I can take a look next time, which will be sometime next month I believe after I get back...

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

Motor mounts are good, they are brand new along with the transmission mount. The old ones were worn and had a different quality of vibration associated with them that went away after being replaced. I would say the vibration is slightly more than minor in my opinion, and probably originated...

    Suburban Barn Door Interior Trim

I'm not sure what part you're talking about, can you elaborate a bit or take a picture? Also, btw those door panels above are gone, I sent to a fellow in washington state - happy to have them go to use, and not trashed!

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

I put in a brand new OE AC Delco balancer meant for the 350 (pn: 6272222). I'm sure this is the right one, it is smooth like you describe (besides the TDC knotch) and it helped a lot with vibration compared to the old worn out one. An update on this issue: I took the vehicle in to a shop...

    Speedometer needle bouncing at idle?

I know some speedo's from other vehicles have a little peg that stops the needle from going so low, do our speedos have something like this? Mine's kind of old and I can't tell if the peg just snapped off or something.

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

More like fuzzy rear view. Is the pilot bushing something to change out if I have to change my flywheel out anyways? As in, is that a wear item?

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

Not the original engine, it is a remanufactured unit of the same kind (sb350 with TBI) that has around 40k on it. George, what do you mean by "a bad or missing pilot bearing in the end of the crank"? Is that still a possibility, or related to what bucket is getting at now?

    Speedometer needle bouncing at idle?

When stopped, where should the needle be? At the 5mph tick? Or below that?

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

I'm bringing it in to a shop to confirm, but if it is a new flywheel that's needed, which one should I get? How about this one by Luk: LFW103? I don't see any AC Delco ones available...

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

What's wrong with a parts store flywheel? Why would they even make an imbalanced flywheel? If I do need to replace the flywheel, how do I know I'm putting the right one in?

    Speedometer needle bouncing at idle?

The bouncing while parked has gone away, so has the bouncing needle at speed. I guess it worked itself out!

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

The PO did say he replaced the clutch not too long ago, and with it, the flywheel. That could be it...

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

I just confirmed, and it still makes the vibration with clutch disengaged. What does that mean now?

    Vibration in 2000-2500 rpm range

I've had this vibration that I can't seem to diagnose and get rid of. It occurs at a very specific rpm range, from approximately 2000-2500. Above and below this range, the vibration goes away. (i.e. I can rev out of it). This happens while driving AND while stationary, in any gear, and in...

    Speedometer needle bouncing at idle?

Ok, I will be taking cluster out and checking the connection. For the VSS, how important is that screw? I lost the little single black screw that holds it to the cluster and used something close, but it's not perfect, I think that could be it. I don't have cruise, but does TBI use that speed...

    Speedometer needle bouncing at idle?

Why would my speedometer needle be bouncing or even moving at all when the vehicle is stationary? The speedometer cable should not be rotating at this point, correct? Is there something else that affects the speedometer? I recently removed and installed my gauge cluster, so maybe I did something...

What U joints for front driveshaft np208 + 10 bolt

Ok, thanks for the tips. I'll go with the normal zerk location for the front joint, and for the cardan joint, I've thought it over and I think I'll go with greasable, I don't mind greasing and I do have one of those needle adapters.

What U joints for front driveshaft np208 + 10 bolt

Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on the front joint options? Both are greasable, I was going to go with the Spicer 5-1310-1X. As for the double cardan, I may just go sealed u joint...

What U joints for front driveshaft np208 + 10 bolt

Yep, I'll be bringing it in to a driveline shop due to: no garage + cold snow + no time + little experience with this. The guy lets you bring in your own parts, so I wanted to get everything purchased first. Good to know about the front shaft over 1/2 to 1 tons. Do 1/2 and 3/4 tons have the same...

What U joints for front driveshaft np208 + 10 bolt

Also, is it a good idea to change out the ball joint/spring thing inside the double cardan joint? Is that a wear item? This one: http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-45U0750-Professional-U-Joint-Sleeves/dp/B000IYZTY0

What U joints for front driveshaft np208 + 10 bolt

I see there a few choices for u joints for the front driveshaft. Are the u-joints for the front driveshaft the same for both 1/2 and 3/4 tons? I'd like to stick with Spicer, and I see they have a few choices for my vehicle. Some are greasable, some are sealed/lubed for life. I don't mind...

    U Joint/Driveshaft, How Screwed am I?

Yep, this really ruined my day. But I've grown to expect these things working on old trucks. It's often the simplest things that go bad. I often think, "oh this is easy, I can do this in an hour, it's just a couple of bolts." But as soon as I say that, there's always a possibility for something...

    U Joint/Driveshaft, How Screwed am I?

Could be the rust, this thing's been through a lot... I'm scheduled to bring it in to a drivetrain specialty shop anyways, so I'll bring it along and see what the experts say. I'll be using the front axle to get me there, which should be fine. How about the rear output shaft from the...

    U Joint/Driveshaft, How Screwed am I?

Thanks for the reply Geogeb! I think I will just start looking for a replacement at this point. Even if I can grind that down smooth, I have a feeling I will have problems down the road with the u joint going bad prematurely, probably because it's not a tight seal? Unfortunately, finding...
