    Wiring through firewall?

Hey, Simple question - I want to run two CB antenna wires, a tach wire, and a wire for my air horn solenoid through the firewall and I can't find an obvious place to do it. I don't want to drill any holes. Any ideas on what the best place to run them is? PS... also any ideas on the best way...

    Chevy 350 Q-Jet K&N Problems

The K&N E-1500 is the one that will fit. It is listed as the 400 / 454 filter, but its dimensions fit the one that came out of my 350. It's 3.4xx" tall. I hope someone else that has this problem finds this useful. Order the K&N E-1500.

    Chevy 350 Q-Jet K&N Problems

Yeah I've been driving Indy to West Lfayette and I average 13mpg on the whole trip - probably 16 highway and 8-10 city. Not bad overall. I'm hoping to get to 16mpg average with the K&N filter and the 2.25" dual exhaust I'm going to be installing soon. My Q-Jet is pretty much new, since it came...

    Chevy 350 Q-Jet K&N Problems

We just put the engine in the truck 1000 miles ago from a crate. It's the exact same engine that came in the truck, and everything on top of the carb is original to the truck. It's a 1.5 owner truck - sold but within the family. The filter housing has never been changed. Do you know where I...

    Chevy 350 Q-Jet K&N Problems

Yeah mine doesn't hit anything or rub anywhere - it's just too short. My filter housing has the EGR port in it (which might get patched at some point), and it has a shaft running to the grill for a cold air intake. The filter element is totally enclosed. It looks similar to this one.

Glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem. Hopefully someone knows.

    Chevy 350 Q-Jet K&N Problems

I have a carbureted 350 Q-Jet in my 79 C20 and I just got my K&N air filter for it. I ordered the one from the K&N website - the E-1450 - and I am very surprised to find that it is too short! It is the right diameter, it's just too short to contact the filter housing lid. All of the searching I...

C20 350 True Dual Exhaust - Glasspacks or Turbos?

I like that setup, and his truck looks almost identical to mine but with a lift. I like that he says it's quiet cruising but loud down low and has a good idle tone - that's pretty much what I'm looking for. Looks like he had it done right. What's the advantage of a balancing pipe? It just...

    Ford Guy new to Chevys

I'd say either 2" or 2.25" would be better than the 2-into-1 1.5" that's on there now. When I get time I will run some resistance models between 2.25" and 2" and I will price two systems.

C20 350 True Dual Exhaust - Glasspacks or Turbos?

Hi all, This didn't seem to fit very well in any of the subcategories in Engines and Performance, so I hope nobody will mind if I put it here. I have a 79 C20 pickup with a new 350 and I want to replace the stock exhaust. I'm thinking true dual, cut the cat (no emissions test here), and do 3"...

    Ford Guy new to Chevys

Thanks! I'm actually going to start off with swapping my 16gal for a 20gal fuel tank and I'm gonna add a true dual exhaust with 3" glasspacks or turbos... I haven't decided yet, I need more info. To the forums!

Wanting to add a second fuel tank - help?

Sounds great, thanks! I'll probably rhino-line the tank too to match the underbody. Previous owner had it lined at 54000 miles and I'm at 76000 miles now. Put the new 350 in at 75000 so it'll be in pretty decent shape once I'm done with it. Thanks for the help! I'll post pictures when I'm done...

Wanting to add a second fuel tank - help?

Thanks, it's a long bed, so I might just swap in the 20 gallon tank. I'll go to the local yard and see if there are any I can pull that aren't rotted to pieces. I get about 13mpg so adding another 52 miles/ tank should be good for now, and I can add the driver's side tank in the future if I need...

Wanting to add a second fuel tank - help?

Hi gurus, I have a 79 c20 and it has a 16 gallon tank. I use it to drive to college and back (about 70 miles) and this tank is just barely large enough for me to get there and back in a weekend. I want to add a second tank and make it look stock (I know dual tanks was an option...). My...

    Ford Guy new to Chevys

Hey GM gurus, I'm a (kind of) new owner of a 1979 Chevy C20 350. My family has been a Ford family for years, but I bought this C20 and I don't know a whole lot about it! I'm looking to get some help over the next year or so as I tweak this truck just how I like it. I put a new 4 bolt main 350...
