    You know what you could also do is replace the flasher relay with an LED relay. They operate at lower voltages and will run lights with lower current draw (LEDs) should you decide to use them in your signals in the future. The 552 flasher is one of these. It should do well for you.

    And yeah I'm sure the switch in the 465 is good cause when I rotate the shift collar to the reverse position on the column and then put the 465 in reverse, the lights come on.

    Well after I got the 465 in and before I interrupted the wire to the lights, when I would rotate the shift collar on the column (I kept the auto column) the reverse lights would come on. So it has to be in there somewhere, or at least that would make sense. Still can't find it.

    Wiring through firewall?

    I appreciate the input but that's not really helpful. I would like NOT to drill holes in anything to keep it original and not have to pay hundreds of dollars for a new dash. If you have any ideas about that it would really help, thanks.
