    Fuel issues

My 85 has a 96’ vortec 350 with no provision for mechanical pump. I don’t really trust external electric pumps and was thinking of replacing the short block to go back to a mechanical. thats Not looking like such a good idea now. Mechanicals used to be reliable, guess that changed too.

    Rough Country 4” with 35’s

don’t know. They looked just like the ones I took off. The only difference was the skyjackers had plastic pads on the tips.

    Rough Country 4” with 35’s

I had an 83 dodge back in the day with an 8” lift (don’t remember the brand) that rode like a Cadillac compared to this K10. I could weld steel tubing from the frame to the axle and it would ride the same. i bought it with a 4” lift and to soften the ride I bought the skyjacker soft ride lift...

    Steering slack

I already bought and installed skyjacker soft ride springs and it made no difference. I could weld steel tubing from the axle to the frame and I don’t think I would notice a difference

    Dual gas tank set-up idea.

why? I’m thinking that it would be less parts and that equals less issues down the road. AND less research/work to get it working correctly. it seems to me that problems with these systems are common… no? this doesn’t make sense to me either because he did a crazy amount of work to just say f it...

    Oil pressure help

Hot hubs could also be the brakes dragging. I just went through this on my Jeep wrangler. Ended up having to change the flexible lines along with rotors and caliper. They clogged with debris and didn’t allow the fluid to flow back towards the master cylinder when the brakes were released.

    Dual gas tank set-up idea.

The truck is an 85 K10 with a carb’d 350 and dual tanks. the previous owner did a frame off resto on it and everything is new, but doesn’t work very well. I can use a little more than half a tank before it runs out and have to switch over. The gauge reads pretty close to what’s actually in the...

    Shocks and valving

Recently bought an 85 K10 with a 4” lift and 35s. It rode like there’s no suspension movement at all. I ordered a Skyjacker soft ride 4” kit and replaced the front springs. (Back has blocks so that stayed for now) that helped slightly but still harder than any leaf spring 4x4 Ive owned. During...

    Steering slack

Just obtained a 1985 k10 that had way too much slack in the steering. All joints were good So I tried the Usual adjustment on top of the box with the Allen stud with lock nut. That didn’t make any difference. While watch as the wheel was turned back and forth, I noticed the steering shaft moving...

    Bench seat adjustment

Mine is even worse than usual. The previous owner installed newer model cushy high back seats that take up a significant amount of room. I’m only 5’9” and it feels like my legs are bent under me.

My first Chevy. Restored 85 4x4

dont know where the got them, but they are nice. The problem tho is that with the high thick back-rest it pushes the seat forward. And their ain’t much room. Good thing I’m Not tall.

My first Chevy. Restored 85 4x4

Sold my 17” f250 diesel because I didn’t use it and wanted a good classic that I can work on. I found one that the guy put a cpl years into already. It isn’t perfect but He did the part I dont have the patience or time for. Frame off, blasted, epoxy primed and painted. He changed pretty much...
