read threw my crew cab build thread I shortened the frame to a short bed and swapped the spring hangers so I could use a 3/4 ton axle
the spring hanger swap is pretty easy and makes it so a 3/4 or 1/2 ton axle will bolt up
I think that would be better than putting two different frames...
a t5 is not strong enough for a truck
sorry to say but you are wasting your time t5 transmissions are barely strong enough for a car even the world class t5 will not hold up to a truck
you would be better off trouble shooting and fixing the tbi.
better fuel economy and better drivability
if you own the truck long enough you will eventually kick yourself in the ass for getting rid of it.
tbi is not really that hard to fix what troubles are you having
there is not space to redrill the nv4500 bolt pattern on a sm465 bell housing
I have seen the cast iron bell housings from older trucks with a bunch of crap welded on them to make them work.
and I have seen a thread where a guy drilled and tapped the sm465 bolt pattern into a nv4500 and...
the bolt patterns for the tranny to the bell housing are different
the nv4500 will not bolt to the sm465 bell housing
the nv4500 pattern is wider than the 465
people have made it work but I have not liked any of the ways they have done it
I have done a nv4500 swap in my 85 with a 208...
no nv4500 had a driver side slave
and the square body bell housing will not work with he nv4500
you can use the factory nv4500 bell housing or use the aa bell housing
what parts are you using for your hyd clutch.
if you use the aa bell housing they have a bracket to use the stock 85 slave

I put a 94 nv4500 in my 85 with...
I ordered my bell housing and adapter ring from summit I wish I would of done more research before ordering them. I would of ordered the pivot ball bracket and shifter bracket at the same time.
I ordered just ordered those brackets from summit and to get over 99 bucks for free shipping I also...
the nv4500 tail shaft does not have a mounting location for the shifter.
I am looking at the advance adapters bracket for the shifter to mount the stock shifter handle.
the short input will fit the nv4500 but you need to cut out a clearance wedge out of the mounting flange on the nv4500...
got the parts today from AA come to find out the bell housing does not have the hole cast into it for the pivot ball for the z bar. so I need to either make a bracket or just order the one they make.
once again to make this swap easy and fast I will probably just order the one they make...
the hinge and door are one piece I think not sure if its the same as a suburban or not I can try to look and see I parted out a sub may still have it
and bucket the wife sent that box out already the shipping was 20 bucks we will just go with that
3000 is not a bad price if I didn't have a c30 and wanted one I would buy it for that price
but its an 82 with a 89 to 91 grill it has been changed up I would say its not original miles.
the price is fare for the truck as it sits
its not priced as a low mile original truck in mint condition
I would pull up number one and do it the right way so I know its correct
I do all my distributers the way I posted that way I know where number one is at no questions.
you can just stab it in anywhere and find number 1 it will run but I just can't do it that way
it only takes a couple...
same as a small block.
pull up number 1 to top dead center on compression
pull out number 1 plug stick your finger over the hole have someone tap the engine over till you feel the pressure. then line up the timing mark on the harmonic balancer at zero.
stab the distributer so the rotor...
I got a 93 nv4500 and a round pattern long input gear 205.
I bought the advance adapters bell housing and spacer for the t case
my 205 was a slip yoke I spent the afternoon swapping the bolt on yoke from a parts 205 I have to replace the slip yoke.
the guy I got the truck from told me...
I would sell the bell housing from the 93 I just picked up with the master and slave for $150.00 plus shipping
I am guessing shipping would be 20 to 30 bucks to most places
ya it is external slave
I was just looking at advance adapters site and seen a adapter for the long input cheaper than I can get a short input. so I just ordered a bell housing kit and the adapter for the long input round pattern 205.
I wanted to make this swap fast and easy the 1 ton its...
