What have you done to your square lately??

I got a set like these off eBay a week or so ago. I took them to Lowe's and they cut them for free. I didn't know this, but apparently their cutting service is free they just assume you'll buy your key blanks from them. I even tried to tip the guy a few bucks but he wouldn't take it.

Instrument gauge cluster bulb replacement.. now no left turn lights?

This sounds even stranger than what mine was doing. I have some messed up stuff going on with my gauge cluster right now, too. It was even worse a while back but I did manage to fix this particular problem easily. I had no turn signals at all, and when I hit my brakes the turn signals in my...

Where to get Chevy Rally Wheels

Those black ones look slick, man. I just picked up a set of bands the same size as those recently from a pawn shop for $30. I got a new pair of the orange and yellow 4X4 center cap stickers recently, too. I was going to do what the gentleman in post #2 advised - polish bands and center caps...

What have you done to your square lately??

I wouldn't say that. It just freed up a little money off the top to get some new parts and work done to it. The paint job will probably cost more than I paid for it, too.

Cadillac CTS seats in an 89 v1500 Burb!

Yes. Mine has the Humpty Hump. I was thinking about just getting some Mexican blanket seat covers but if I can find some black leather Caddy seats that might be a better option.

    1980 z28 rescue

That thing is bad ass, OP. I had a 1988 IROC in "Smurf Blue" in like 1996 not long after I had gotten out of high school but I always liked the older body style.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, probably. Well, since I only paid $1,500 for this shitbox, yeah, it will definitely end up being more than I paid for it. I have wanted a K5 since I was in high school and I don't ever plan on selling it. It's not going to be cheap but it's not going restore itself so someone's gotta do it.

    radiator bottle and washer bottle

Haven't started on my radiator overflow bottle yet, but I got my wiper fluid bottle clean using a Scotch-Brite dish sponge and some Windex and Goo-Gone. The wiper fluid bottle has this sheet of clear plastic over the top of it and it had some paint on it from the overspray from when it was...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah I definitely don't like guys with "LET'S F***" tattoos on their hands, bald-faced liars, and junkyard goons who casually talk about murdering people and hiding their bodies in their junkyard. But you're right - I'm definitely the "bad guy" for expecting a modicum of common decency from...

    Winch Bumper wanted!!

I sold a Warn bumper just like that one about a week ago. Well, traded it (with boot $$$) to a guy for a 1989 Suburban bumper with the wide impact strips with the chrome at the top and a set of the big chrome bumper guards. You could have had mine for cheap if you had gotten here last week, OP...

What have you done to your square lately??

That may be true, but there aren't any around here where I live. I bought this Blazer a little over a month ago knowing it needed some work and that a lot of said work couldn't be done myself due to the fact I lack the tools and garage space. I was OK with this and I knew I would have to take...

What have you done to your square lately??

I was a golf course superintendent for 14 years so I literally "got my hands dirty" for a living at a clip of between 50 - 60 hours a week. It was just red Georgia clay and not grease. There is one guy here locally with a good rep. He's going to do some work on my engine for me.

What have you done to your square lately??

No need to be offended. The world needs lawyers, car salesmen, bankers, hedge fund managers, and auto mechanics. Even though the "good mechanics" (like yourself, obviously) are about as rare as Italian WWII victories I'm sure they're out there - just few and far between where I happen to live.

What have you done to your square lately??

I trust them as much as I would any auto mechanic. Auto mechanics are just car salesmen with dirtier hands.

It's gonna work some money outta my wallet if that's what you mean LOL

What have you done to your square lately??

I've never met a mechanic that is completely "trustworthy". Not saying they aren't out there, they just seem to be few and far between. That being said, I have done a lot of business with this place over the years. Not like that means much these days, but still. And the repairs do need to be...

What have you done to your square lately??

I haven't "done" this yet, but I am taking it to the shop tomorrow to GET stuff done. Today I noticed the $700 set of tires I just put on my '85 K5 were looking kinda weird. Looked sorta off kilter when it was parked in the driveway. I took it to the shop I use and got some BAD news.... Ugh...

Talk me out of cutting my dash

I have been struggling with a situation similar to this. My '85 K5 came cut with an Alpine CD player in it that spits out CD's. It won't play CDR's or regular CD's, either. I was going to buy an old Pioneer Super Tuner cassette deck and have an old electronics repairman I know clean the head...

Cadillac CTS seats in an 89 v1500 Burb!

Dumb question, I'm sure, but will these seats work in a K5 Blazer too?

What have you done to your square lately??

Put some new center cap stickers on today. Still need to: polish the bands polish the center caps get new screws for center caps get new lug nuts paint wheels silver Trying to freshen up these wheels without spending a ton of cash. Right now I got like $20 in the stickers and $30 in the bands.

What have you done to your square lately??

I bought my 1985 K5 almost a month ago. It had been parked for a while when I bought it, so it has quite a few "issues". I don't know if a month counts as "lately", but so far I have: Installed new windshield. Old one had a large crack in it. Got an exact replacement for it - the shaded top...

So is this type of Bumper Trim unobtanium?

No I have not but I will now. Thanks for the heads up. I just searched every single page result on eBay for the search term "K5 Bumper" and found zero impact strips. Several places have the impact strips for the bumper guards, just not for the actual bumper. I don't even care if it has chrome at...

So is this type of Bumper Trim unobtanium?

The bumper in this pic looks a lot like the one I have. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same. It came off a 1989 Suburban but I don't know if it was on it originally or not. I will post a pic of it later today when the sun comes out. I am getting ready to polish it up and install the thing -...
