How much doea your fuel tank hold?

Yup. And I've got the giant wet spot in a very conspicuous spot on my pants to show for it.

How much doea your fuel tank hold?

I believe they were, however the asshat that optioned my truck picked some funky stuff. Loaded with camper special, silverado, $600 top-of-the-line radio, but no upgraded cooling, fuel or anything else. I'm thinking it was an old farmer that wanted a nice cruiser, not an HD worker. Hell he...

How much doea your fuel tank hold?

My crew dually has the 16 gal tanks. I'm thinking I may swap out to 20s at some point though. They are cheap enough. At 7mpg I'll take every drop I can get.

    Plastic fuel tanks?

I found that tank on ebay with someone who actually took a picture of it. It's from the '88-'96 trucks and absolutely will not fit our trucks. It's all kinds of the wrong shape. Apparently the parts houses are using the wrong stock image. Figures...

Got a mini starter - I gotsa question about it

I just installed that exact starter about 2 months ago. Forget the foam, its supposed to be a dust cover or something. You don't need it. You likely won't need any shims either - I did'nt. Just pull down the old starter and put this one back up with the new bolts. Easy peasy. Oh. Just take it...

    Plastic fuel tanks?

Well that's not tooo bad. I'm curious if that 34 gallon p/n 2034 would work in our trucks. That would be sweet. Thats 68 friggen gallons between two of them! Now THAT I could see being a worthwhile upgrade! Let me see... at 7mpg that would get me 476 miles down the road. Not bad...

    Plastic fuel tanks?

Hmm... No pricing on their site. I bet its one of those "if you have to ask..." situations. Would it be worth it for $400 per tank? I think not. I'd be curious what they charge though. Especially when a 20 gallon steelie is $65 on rockauto.

Screw California - Passed Smog Except for Gas Cap/Evap

Take a look in the Help! section at Advance Auto. They have that very thing in a kit. It comes with the ribbon, a spring to hold it to a gas cap (that does not have a mounting hole), and plastic push-pins to attach it to the body and the cap (if it has the hole). I just used this kit to replace...

    Lights problem

Ok so have you done the following: 1. Disconnected the clearance lights from the system completely? I mean actually cut the wire off the taillight harness wherever he spliced it in? 2. Verified 12v at the fuse, and at the taillight bulb sockets? 3. Verified you have good grounds at the...

    Lights problem

Oh ok. I've only ever seen those referred to as clearance lights. Gotcha though. Understandable why they would be blowing the fuse. Now I'm curious how my OEM lights are wired.

    Lets hear some big blocks

Yes they are, but not as bad with full tail pipes, keeping the mufflers mounted as far back as possible. The no-name chambered I had were massively louder, but I think a lot of that had to do with dumping in front of the diff. Believe it or not, rotating the exhaust tips slightly made a...

    Lets hear some big blocks

Ok so I have an untouched 454 with the mini-header style manifolds, and 2.5" true-duals. This vid was shot with a set of no-name chambered mufflers dumping before the diff: http://vid268.photobucket.com/albums/jj36/Da_Raabi/VIDEO0014_zps7f090f03.mp4 This was after I cut said no-name mufflers...

    What is this?

Dayum yours still has hoses on it. Mine's just sitting there with like 1 or 2 hoses hooked up. The PO took them all out so I've got no clue how to put it all back together. Whatever. Who needs emissions anyway?

    Opinions on my rust issue

I removed and welded in a whole new floor in my '80 Camaro with a harbor freight flux-core wire welder. The welds look horrifying, but they hold and will end up under carpet, insulation etc anyway. It was dirt cheap and got the work done.

    MC leak. Rebuild or replace?

You may need the pedal assembly too, sometimes the pedal ratios are different between power and non-power.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put in a new-to-me Sony DIN stereo using the Metra install kit. Its not perfect - but it works 1000 times better than my old post radio. I'm just struggling to get the radio to sit tight against the dash. Gotta figure that out. Also installed a new heater core which was a bitch and a half...

    86 R30 Front Coil Springs

You may find that a set of stock replacement 1 ton springs will achieve your goal. 30 years of abuse has likely squashed your OEM springs down a bit, so original replacments may do the trick. You could also switch to the F41 firm ride or F42 Heavy Duty springs, which may help a bit. Hell, if...

    Stock radio problem

Dude just cut the dash and be done with it. I hummed and hawed on it for months, and finally did it last week. It's nice actually having decent tunes now. The Metra install kit is like $12 on Amazon, and its worth it. You could spend $150 or more getting a CASSETTE radio refurbed and still have...

    Headlights and dash lights problem

You turn on the headlights by pulling the headlight switch in the lower left of the dash 2 clicks out. High/low is changed by pulling/pushing the multi-function switch on the column (the turn-signal switch). The dash lights are controlled by twisting the headlight switch knob on the dash left...

    Engine keeps dying at random

That really sounds like an electrical issue to me. If it were fuel-related it would cause physical issues like smoke, knocking, sputtering, etc etc. You'd know it is my point. Even a failed fuel pump would not just "shut-off" the engine. I'm thinking you may have a problem in the ignition...

    Engine keeps dying at random

Check to see if you are getting: 1. Fuel at the carb. Could have a fuel pump problem or clogged fuel tank pickup 2. Power to the dizzy. 3. Spark from the dizzy to the plugs

    Convenional vs Synthetic

I only use synthetic because the Amsoil Z-Rod (high-zinc formula) is synthetic.

    Engine keeps dying at random

Bad battery connection. Either at the battery or at the starter/ground. Does it crank?
