what brand of fuel do you run in your square?

Dunno about the snake oil thing, but I've found I really like to add a bottle of Berryman's B12 to a tank every once in a while. I've noticed it really seems to help with the MPG (I actually measured a difference) that would last a few weeks. Did wonders for my old 99 Durango too. It would...

    Froze BBC

Man you are over thinking things. Plop the engine into the frame, use a couple exhaust flex pipes to get the exhaust away from you, run a water hose to a heater nipple and use an old shop vac hose to pipe the water OUT the water pump INLET, run a couple fuel hoses from your pump into a little 1...

    Favorite tool brand?

I just discovered a brand I had never heard of - Williams. Apparently they are made by Snap-On, but are a subsidiary brand. You can get them on Amazon etc. Made in USA, and about half-way between Craftsman and Snap-On/other truck brands in price. No idea if they are any good but they seem...

    TH350 Won't engage park

After inspecting the pawl (which looks slightly different from the one in the image above) and comparing to one I found on eBay, it would appear that it is in OK condition. I cannot verify if it is actually worn or not, but it looked OK to me. By forcing the pawl to the rear, I can get it to...

    TH350 Won't engage park

Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of mine, however mine is exactly identical to the pic I used in the diagram above. The owner of that pic appears to have had the same problem as I. I can't seem to find a pic of this area from a properly functioning th350, or else I could use that for...

    TH350 Won't engage park

I pulled the pan and discovered that the parking pawl appears to be trying to engage the wrong gear in the transmission. The guide plate that aligns the pawl is forcing it to do this. Is it possible the previous rebuilder got the gears backwards inside the trans? Are there different guide plates...

    New guy 87 half ton

Hey hey! Glad you made it over here! That is definitely one nice interior! Take a look around and get in on some of the idiocy. Just don't talk about big girls... Several of these guys will get themselves way too hot and bothered!

    TH350 Won't engage park

Test drive went great. No issues to speak of, besides no park. Drove straight, no noises, the RV 454 shreds the tires before you even get into the secondaries! Really can't complain. I'm hoping I can get the pan off tomorrow, but no promises.

    TH350 Won't engage park

Bugger. I figured as much. Friggen craigslist trannys... Well I'm planning on taking the car for a spin around the neighborhood today anyway. It's my second drive in 6 years of owning the car! I guess I'll go ahead and pull the pan over the weekend. Fingers crossed its a simple fix.

    TH350 Won't engage park

This isn't a square, but its still a th350. I just put this transmission in my 80 Camaro behind a 454 (I know... don't ask). I got it off of craigslist and it seemed like it would be a good trans. The problem is, I can't get it to engage park. I disconnected the shifter cable and manually...

what brand of fuel do you run in your square?

I only run WaWa 89 octane ethanol free in mine. After I destroyed a brand new set of fuel hoses with ethanol gas, I switched over to ethanol proof hoses and E-0 gas. Fuel mileage sucks, but thats normal I guess. Strangely enough 89 octane E-0 gets significantly better mileage than 87 octane...

    Smeary glass

I've smoked the odd pipe or cigar in the truck, but I could count the number of times I've done that in the 4 years I've owned the truck on two hands. Very rare. I don't like smoking in enclosed spaces, it makes things sticky, which if I did it more often would be a definite culprit for the...

looking for shocks that work good and wont break the bank.

Bet you $10 if you are buying parts at Oreilly you are spending waaaaaay too much. I tried looking at them for a few parts. They were so grossly overpriced I never went back (as in double AA BEFORE discounts). Don't ever buy parts at a place because of the people. They are all the same at this...

looking for shocks that work good and wont break the bank.

The Monroe OE Spectrum have a lifetime warranty at Advance, as do many many many of their parts. I now make copies of all of my receipts because 90% of the parts I buy there have lifetime.

looking for shocks that work good and wont break the bank.

I just picked up a set of 4 Monroe OE Spectrum shocks for my 80 Camaro. After a 25% coupon code and a $20 off speedperks reward I got all four shocks for $60 out the door. That would be my recommendation. I did the same thing yesterday and got a pair of Thrush glasspacks with a pair of clamps...

    Smeary glass

Ok I'll give the vinegar water a go over the weekend. I tried SprayWay glass cleaner this morning before work. It took some serious elbow grease too, but I was able to get some of the shmoo off and make it easier to get to work. With the days getting shorter (ie its dark on the way to work now)...

    Smeary glass

Just curious if anyone else has issues with smeary interior glass? Seems like all my windows, but mainly the windshield, get this coating of something on them. It takes a lot of work to get it all off too. Do these trucks just tend to get real humid inside? I've been having a lot of trouble...

    Extreme Intermittent Front Wheel Wobble

Funny my '06 burb does the exact same thing. Perfect all day long, then hit a bump just right and hold on to your skivvies. That steering wheel is vibratin! I'm almost positive I've got a worn out pitman or idler. I'm finding it very hard to tell though.

    Good headlights

I've had the LMC relay harness installed for about 4 years. No issues so far, and the sylvania silverstar sealed beams do a pretty good job with it. Not sure what the big deal is.

My question is... why? Why would you extend the cab like a foot? For a little more storage behind the rear seat? Wouldn't a longer bed be more useful?
