I broke the tool box, made a cradle out of angle and got it back in and working. I also kind of ripped the HF crane out of the bed. I got it reinstalled and have started to fix the hole in the bed. It's so nice to have the truck back to being a usable tool again. I've missed having the crane... -

Put 185 retaining wall blocks in the bed. The bumper was pretty low....Apparently 185 blocks at 24 pounds each equals waaaaaaaay overloaded the ol girl. -

today I drug a 1990 Geo Metro drop top to the mechanic. I wish I had a tommy lift; we could have just thrown the Geo in the bed. That little car is so light it was hard to tell it was still attached. -

spent friday night soldering the power window wires in. spent saturday and sunday waiting for the window to quit working again. but it didn't so I put the pretty parts back on the door. It's kind of weird not pulling the door shut with the open holes in the door and not having a cold draft... -

spent some time making the drivers window go up and down and stay in the channels. also put the interior parts back on the door so it's all buttoned up and pretty. the other window doesn't go up and down now but I have heat, working vent and drivers windows so i'm going to call it a win for now. -

got the replacement parts from LMC for the bits and pieces that broke during my temper tantrum. If it warms up at all or i can get her into the house I'm going to get the drivers window going up and down again this weekend. -

i'll order a new bumper when I reorder the switch and pigtail connector. both of which are in pieces strewn about the immediate area around the truck. Never would have gone after the rear guide....thanks!! -

Background: This 1984 truck originally had crank windows and I changed them over to power two years ago. Periodically, the window would stop part way up (or down, depending on your world outlook) but that was because of my wiring prowess. I've replaced the felt and that's been a bit of a problem... -

fixed the #@$%!!*&%## out of the wiring for the window. it's now in pieces in the driveway, back yard, on the roof.....the drivers window is the bane of my existence. cant figure out why the window is jumping out of the track. did get the new grill installed. need to tack up some additional tabs... -

spent some time with the soldering iron fixing the window motor wiring. installed the new vent window locks for the vent windows. one grain of rice at a time.... -

pulled the intake and put gaskets in that don't leak and pulled the heater core. put in a new heater core, checked the lines but still no heat. I'm guessing I didn't knock out something on the water pump... fixed the connection for the tach so now all the gauges work -

just been putting miles on Gerdie. I'm hoping to get the heat fixed before it gets stupid cold this weekend. but even if that doesn't happen, I'm happy that I can jump in, turn the key and go. -

Got the truck back from the mechanic; runs great although we didn't set off a single car alarm in the office garage. found out gas gauge is pegged at full. got to push the beast for a while until someone came by to hook a chain to. sunday we got to work. best truck ever! Got the truck back last night. signals work, the thermostat housing isn't pouring coolant out and valves are quiet. The truck is so quiet now, it didn't set off a single car alarm in the parking garage. so, kinda disappointed about that but wildly happy I can get her back to work! Now it's up to... -

Had to take Gerdie to a mechanic to fix the blinker issue. That's a big ol kick in the special purpose, taking her to someone else to fix something. I also asked him to fix some of the other issues I haven't had time to get to. so, money well spent. -

I liked it. You're able to drop the back end in first then even things out. Plus, stabbing the motor mounts is easier if you can adjust the engine with minimal effort. Now, if I could just have an even floor to roll things around on.... -

well, i've been learning some things. Learning by doing and redoing then fixing and doing it again..... out with the old 4 bolt in with the replacement 2 bolt out of the '51 3100 5 window and here's what i learned: there's ony one way to put the flex plate on wrong. and i took a picture... -
