I did the drop spindles and 1” lowering springs and the C-notch axle flip. I’m running 20’s all the way around.- 86 C10 Shortbed

LS Swap Fuel Pump
I used the Corvette inline pump with the filter mounted before the pump, I should have put a secondary filter after the pump but I've had no issues. I have dual 86 tanks with the standard sending units, going to the standard GM dual tank valve and standard switch on the dash.- 86 C10 Shortbed

lowering my 1987 silverado
I went with McGaughys kit for my 86 Shortbed. Just make sure you verify your brakes size. They had heavy duty brakes and standard brakes. Heavy duty had a 1 1/4” thick rotors and the standard was 1” thick rotors. My truck has the 2.5” front and 4” rear. McGaughys.com- 86 C10 Shortbed

There are some hidden costs swapping the 5.3LS motor in but the advantages are worth it. I also put a posi and 3.73 gears in . What a blast to drive.- 86 C10 Shortbed

I had to grind a minimal amount off the tie rod end to clear the rim. I also had to use stick on weights instead of the old hammer on weights.- 86 C10 Shortbed

I purchased the Magaughys 2.5" front/4" rear drop kit. They have two different versions depending on how thick your front rotors are. 1" thick for light duty brakes and 1.25" for heavy duty brakes. I ran my 15" ralleys with 275/60/15 with no rub in the rear. You will also need to notch your bed...- 86 C10 Shortbed

My 305 was shot so I went the LS route.Fits nicely and the power difference and mileage are amazing. Engine and transmission came out of a 1999 Chevy Truck. 5.3L and 4L60E. But I do love a 400!- 86 C10 Shortbed
