    Play in steering column

I finally got around to doing this job. What a difference in handling! I did not find the part in the Chevrolet-section of online autoparts stores, but in de Jeep-section they were plenty. I bought Crown part number CWA-4487696K and changing it is real easy. I read that i had to unbolt the...

    Square on the Interstate

If yours is a '87, you should have the TH700R4. If your gears are the same as my '91, you'll be at 2250 RPM at 75 mph which is a very nice rpm for our squares. What you should check is the suspension and brakes.

Tried to restore back to an '88 as much as possible. I just got rid of that ugly '88 rear spoiler. Thanks for checking.

    Play in steering column

It indeed feels like the play is at the end of the column. Can it be changed from within the engine bay without removing the column from the truck ?

    Play in steering column

If i grab the steering shaft in the engine bay close to the firewall (thus above the rag joint) in one hand and the steering wheel in the other, I can feel a fair amount of rotational play. I can not understand how that is possible. There is no play between the steering wheel and the splined...

How and where do you jack up engine when replacing motor mounts ?

Thanks for the replies. Fedex just mailed that the parts will be here on friday and added a bill for customs clearance :( so 'll give it a go next weekend. A 4x4 is always ok in my book

How and where do you jack up engine when replacing motor mounts ?

I don't have an engine host so i'll have to jack it up from the underside. I'd rather not jack it up on the oil pan as i may not be strong enough, even when supported with a wouden block. Would the torque converter be a good place? Thanks for reading.

    door alignment

Success! The front fender came off fairly easy and i could indeed reach the third upper inner bolt from the vent hole. The main vent tube can be loosened with one screw under the dash right under the steering column and can then be winkled out of the vent mouth. Remove the 3 screws that holds...

    door alignment

Old thread i know but i need to align the driver door and man that doesn't look like it's gonna be a walk in the park. I already changed the pins and bushings and aligned the door in and outwards so it sits flush with the other body panels. But it still closes badly, it's too low at the rear...

Right rear locking up long before other brakes applied..

I had the exact same issue and after a lot of tryal and error i had the drums machined in a shop as a last resort and all was well again.

Thanks guys. There seem to be a lot of tech guys here. Loving it. I used a Motley Crue track on the third gen vid, that's probably why it's blocked in the usa. Yeah i'm a (not that talented) guitarhead too.

    Newbie from Belgium

Hi guys, i’m Rik and i live in Belgium. Ever since I was little I was impressed by those amazing American cars I saw on TV. At first it was all in a more passive way but a couple of years ago I restored a 1988 Camaro which is a really rare care over here. This infected me only more with the...
