    Camaro basement find

There were 2 cars here in town with the same story. The son buys the car, goes to Vietnam, gets killed and parents keep the car. One was a 1969 Z/28 that was parked in the front yard. It was blue with white stripes. It sat there for at least 30 years. Finally, it was gone one day when I drove...

What have you done to your square lately??

I also took the lazy way out as well. I had my 15 year son help me!:) He also cut the pin and put the new bushings in as well. Then we put my new, to me, used door on. It fit pretty close too.:party36:

What have you done to your square lately??

What a coincidence. I just replaced the upper hinge pin and bushings on the driver's side door. No more vertical slop for my truck as well.

Previous post from him says he has a 465 with a 205 transfer case.:)

REMOVE a leaf?? or, How to Lower a 4" lift to stock height

I would just replace the blocks and drop down to 33's. That would be the easiest and cheapest route to go. This is just my opinion. Then you don't have to worry about the gear ratio. The tires will be slightly cheaper. The truck should have slightly more power. Just my thoughts tho. BTW- It...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Yeah that is the one I was talking about. It is funny when you look at the pics that the outside is shiny and the interior looks good but underneath looks really dirty or has overspray showing on some parts. You would think that they would clean and detail the frame and underneath since they are...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I was wondering the same thing. They have several trucks on Ebay right now. If you scroll down their ad and look at the description near the bottom, you can see the asking price for the truck. They are asking between 13 to 15 thousand per truck. Check out the hail dents on the roof of the...

REMOVE a leaf?? or, How to Lower a 4" lift to stock height

The front springs are arched to give you the 4 inch lift. Removing a leaf will drop it some but not enough. You are going to need different springs. You are aware that if you take the lift off that you will have to replace some other things as well. For example shocks and maybe a new steering...

Tow Trucks, Wreckers and Car Hauler Discussion

And that is why I said that I would wait until you weighed in since I am not a professional wrecker driver. I was wondering what you would say. I would have never got under that vehicle myself unless it was cribbed up more. I agree with you also on letting someone else run the levers. If...

    Winch Bumpers and Nerf Bars

We could tell the difference. The new ones from you were nothing like the others. The others just crumbled. Yours went in with no problem.:) The GM door lined up really well. We were surprised. It needs very little adjusting and it is very tight. There is no slop at the hinges now.:party36: Many...

    Winch Bumpers and Nerf Bars

I already bought the brushguard or should I say my son bought the brushguard. Thanks again Andy. BTW- those bushings worked perfectly on the hinges so thanks again.:party36::)

Cruise control arm but no wiper controls

Yes that is what mine looks like. Boy that is expensive. I would look for a tilt column with CC before I bought that CC arm by itself. I don't know about the connector as I have not taken it apart but the handle and CC is the same.

Cruise control arm but no wiper controls

Yes they did. I have a tilt column that I am wanting to install on my 1979 GMC. It has just the cruise on the turn signal. My wiper is on the dash and the headlight switch is on the floor as well.

    Found on eBay Listings

^Add me to the list. I can't believe what people want for some of this stuff. I guess what they want and what they get is two different things. I can't believe someone would pay that much money for a push bar. I would go to a local metal fab shop and have someone weld one up out of aluminum...

Good engine blocks for a build

What a loaded question. There are so many responses for it. I know that many are going weigh in here with their opinion so here is mine. Since the engine is going in a 77 I would just look for a 350 block with the dipstick on the drivers side. That is what came on the truck so why change. Or...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I had a black 77 TA with that style of louvers on the back window. Yeah. I blew them off the car at 100 MPH on I 77. Who knew they were speed rated! The last I saw they were about 10 feet off the ground and folded in half. The good news was that I didn't lose the window channel around the...

My 1972 Challenger Rallye build thread

I have always liked those cars. They really look good with the snorkel hood on them. I remember way back in the 70's whenever you saw one it was usually not stock. It had air shocks, super wide tires mounted on Cragars or Keystones, skinny 70 series front tires and a really loud exhaust. As...

    Another axle swap question

I read about the 3.42's somewhere in a gm publication or maybe a four wheeler mag article I forget. I would say that since you had the 4.3 that was probably why the 3.42's were put in. :)

    Another axle swap question

I read somewhere that the 3.42 gearing was used only in standard transmission trucks. My 79 half ton 4x4 came with 3.08 from the factory. It also had a auto transmission and 203 full time transfer case.

Harbor Freight Tire Changer on Sale Half Price

Update on the tire changer. I called back when they told me to and they didn't get one in. The next week the new ad comes out with them advertising it for $39.99. I go in today and sure enough that is the price. Here is how they were able to get out of charging $21 for it. They had put a new and...

    please help quickly

Good ole boy- I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Bucket has hit the nail on the head. A truck is only as strong as its weakest link. When you crank one up, even with a 200 hp motor, the torque applied through the drivetrain is unbelievable. This really comes home on pavement. Chalk it up...
