    Drive shaft rubbing "Y" pipe

That is a possible solution. I just bought a set of headers for the other truck that is not going to run for a while as I just started tearing it apart for restoration. I'd like to see if I can come up with an alternative solution first though.

    Drive shaft rubbing "Y" pipe

Got a pic. This is what I'm looking at now. Thought about cutting the down pipes and extending but they are angled a little different on each side. I may still be able to do it. Have to look a little closer when I have more time. Probably wouldn't be so bad if it only had a 2" lift which is what...

    Drive shaft rubbing "Y" pipe

Ok. At work so cant get any pics right now. It is touching at ride height so I will cut it and distance by 2" minimum. Couple of couplings should do the trick. I'll post some pics when I get a chance. Thanks.

    Drive shaft rubbing "Y" pipe

So I just bought this 86 Custom Deluxe. Had to have it towed to my house and fix some things the PO was working on to get it running. Still have some tuning to do but it runs. I noticed the front drive shaft appears to be rubbing on the "Y" pipe of the exhaust. It has a practically brand new...

    Advice please

You can do an awful lot with little to nothing. Clean it up and get it running if you can. Go from there.

Howdy neighbor. We have been by there once so far but it was early and not many people were there yet. Have to try again soon. See you there.

Bought an 86 Silverado last year to start restoring. Bought this 86 Custom Deluxe last week. Had to finish up some things to get it running from the guy I bought it from. Still need to do some tuning and fix a few things. Also have some 4WD questions I'll get to.

Do aftermarket speaker mounts make 6x9's clear the cab?

So I think I have basically the same speaker as you. It does seem to hit before fitting all the way back. How did you mount the bracket to the truck? Thanks

    Removing bed bolts

Anyone used a nut splitter on the bottom? Some of these are difficult to get to, rusted etc. Some have spun also after having come loose.

Bed prep if getting spray in liner???

That looks good. That's why I'm thinking the etching primer is good enough and no need for paint beforehand.

Bed prep if getting spray in liner???

Thanks for the replies. Give a few days to get some pics. I am painting the inside of the cab at the moment and everything is stored in the bed.

Bed prep if getting spray in liner???

Haven’t decided yet. Did read that even if painted it needed to be scuffed up before adding the liner so I figured why wast a lot of time and money getting perfect and painting.

Bed prep if getting spray in liner???

How much effort needs to go into the bed for paint etc. if you are going to get a spray in liner? Do I need to paint or just prime the bed? I don't want to strip the while thing to bare metal like I plan to do with the rest of the truck before painting. I'm thinking rough it up and get any loose...

    Biggest meat for the street

Looks like a fairly shallow back space on those wheels as well to achieve that look of being outset to the edge of the well I believe. Maybe a wider wheel.

So, looks like 31x10.5. Backspace? Want to sit about even with the sides.

    Biggest meat for the street

86 2WD. Not lifted or lowered. Just want to fill the wheel well as much as possible and sit up as tall as it can. 15's or 17's. Suggestions?
