    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@AuroraGirl I probably wouldn't categorize adding a return line as a 'change of course'. My problem was I had no course at all :)... and thats why this site and you all are so helpful. In consulting with one of the guys I follow on Instagram 'MrChevyGM'... (check out his profile - does...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Thought I'd post a quick update as the thread starter... I happened to be at Oreilly's for something else (I'd removed the thermostat completely, which lowered the temp enough for me to drive it - but clearly I needed to do something). I still hadn't decided which direction I was going to...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Heater hose runs... one into the intake.... the other into the water pump. Currently have an SM465 I purchased off Facebook Marketplace to get me 'down the road' a few months until I can get my '71 running for my 16 year old.... then my goal is to shoehorn in an 4L80E...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@Bextreme04 Thanks - super helpful. I found a shop in Dallas (nothing any closer) - so I'll pull it, drive my trusty Dodge Cummins in and get it rebuilt along with getting rid of the spacer, no fan clutch (@AuroraGirl).... etc... BTW: I went back and read through my 'stranded' thread... and...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Any thoughts from anyone on my original question? 2 core, 3 core 4 core radiator? Aluminum or 'stock' type? Electric fans or stock fan? Best place to order or have my original rotted out? Thanks again for any help.

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

That’s the way it was when I picked it up in Denver and trailered it home. Was considering going electric as part of a potential update to the radiator… Googled and saw a few aluminum replacement radiator with dual electric fans… but wanted input from you all.

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

I drive it daily… coolant has been replaced twice before I drove it to Colorado and back in late July; once when I replaced the water pump, then again when I replaced the harmonic balancer a few weeks later.

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@Itali83 back to my original question… suggestions on an upgrade - maybe I should have said ‘replacement’? 3 core?, 4 core?, aluminum, new stock, get this one rotted out, electric fans, stock fan???

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Are you suggesting that a return line on the fuel pump will lower my operating temperature? Maybe I'm not understanding your post.

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@AuroraGirl Help me understand 'what deeply held ideas I'm holding onto?' I think 220 degrees is too hot - for my 1975 350... is that what you mean - just want to understand. If my truck has a new water pump, factory shroud, 50/50 mix of coolant and water, fan clutch isn't slipping (no clutch)...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@Bextreme04 Not ignoring your advise... Maybe I am.. because I do not think adding a return line is going to lower my engine operating temperature from 220 down to say 180 or 190 - maybe it will though and I'm completely wrong... won't be the first time. I did ask a specific question that...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@AuroraGirl thanks for the feedback - any thoughts on where you'd suggest picking up a replacement? No, haven't added a return line yet... wanted to initially try to solve the root problem, which is heat I think (combination of things actually) however, it is very high on my list to add a...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

@betreme04, thank you for the feedback. I think it is a 46 year old radiator that needs either to be rotted out or replaced. In the Dallas area, there are radiator repair shops... but it's $150 to $195 to repair/rott out a radiator... So looking for specific thoughts on a replacement - if...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Thoughts on specifically what radiator you all would suggest for my 1975 Blazer... 350 engine? Back story: In my 'Stranded' thread from late July early August, my Blazer was vapor-locking in the Colorado mountains, partially due (I think) to it running too hot. So now back in Texas - it was...

    Turn signal power?

Update: That DIR SIG fuse block ended up having a dead wire behind the fuse panel. I guess 46 years of vibration finally caused it to break - easy fix - Make Turn Signals Work Again!!!

    Turn signal power?

I don’t have a radio, everything works except this one fuse connection. Ive tested every fuse in the panel and they are all good except this one and neither side of the fuse holder has power.

    Turn signal power?

Looking at this wiring diagram, to me it looks like there are two fuses that could be out? In the pic below, it looks like the turn signal fuse (which is dead) gets its power from the fuse being pointed at by the sharpie… which gets its power when the ignition switch (circled junction) is...

    Turn signal power?

Fuse it mounted securely... tight.. neither of the posts that hold that fuse have power - so it has to be whatever is supplying the DIR SIG fuse post right? I think I've read that I should also NOT have Reverse Lights... which I don't.... So, I think I need to dig in behind the fuse panel -...

    Turn signal power?

The plug in the firewall directly opposite the panel? Yes, but everything has worked since… I was up in Colorado Springs (on the side of the road no less, well documented in the thread “Stranded…”).. when I got in it and had no gauges (the blade above this fuse was powering my gauges, and went...
