    4.10s or 4.56s ?

Isn't that the reason you can shift out of OD? If you a hauling a trailer, have a lot of weight and/or driving into a head wind, just take it out of OD and you will be fine.

A/C Switch installed. MUST have for us in colder regions

There are hair drier units(mostly for VWs) that will warm up the cab and help defrost/defog the windows(they plug in to the ciggie lighter). Maybe that is to lo-tech, but it does work...

    383 Stroker build

I am not familiar with your cam, but your build has to be to the cam as far as compression is concerned. If you use lower compression than the cam calls for, you will not be happy, if the compression is higher than the cam recommends, you will ping(or your computer will retard the timing so bad...

    Wheel balancing rant

When you have wide tires that are way out of balance, it is very hard to get them right, especially just using the inside of the wheel. A wide tire that is not balanced on the outside could just wear out even more quickly, or could be ready the seperate, which is even worse. Maybe your tire is...

    Brighter lights all around

You are not correct there. DOT regs limit the brightness of all the bulbs. If your taillights are too bright, they could out bright the turn indicators. If the backup lights are too bright you can get a fix it ticket. If you use a spot light for a backup light, you better cover it when on the...

    Brighter lights all around

I don't know if there is a sticky anywhere, but I would love to see a list of brighter bulbs that can be installed in place of stock(without relays and the like) - like a bulb that will fit in the backup lights, but is brighter and if they are legal of not. I have a 1991 suburban, brighter...

    weird noise

I read about a guy who finally found the rattle in his truck - he had to cut his drive shaft apart and there was a note inside a 1/2 nut that congradulated him on finding it. I guess it was some (about to be laid off) GM worker that did it

I need a seat ID please

They look like Corvair seats. You might be surprised to find that most early Chevelle interiors fit in a 55-57 Chevy, except for the door. The whole point of having a car that had a bench seat is that your honey could sit close........

Yep, like the friend that put marbles in your hubcaps....

    Air Compressor Time

Go down to your old local gas station. Most of them do not have the ding hoses because they are self serve. There is likely to be a great old compressor in the back and you might get it for a song.

    Well I'm phukd. Th400 lost 3rd

It is a good thing it is not one of the later ones with the o/d, those are very expensive to rebuild. I was surprised many years ago at how cheap(relatively speaking) it is to overhaul a th350 or 400

    700r4 Rebuild advise

put a electric fan on the cooler.

FIXED!!!! no gauge lights of any kind.

If you have a LED unit, be sure to put it in both ways, because the current flow (+ to -) does matter

This is cool, useless but useless

With the size of parking spaces in the city, I could see the use for this system, not that I would do it.

    Temperature and Oil pressure guages

Someone replaced the stock guages. I would guess that they did not work properly, so You might try to hook them back up with stock sending units - I wouldn't pull the aftermarket mess out until you see the stock one working.

    496 Build

Compression is only a static number, depending on the cam these things change and the way the engine runs changes. If you get a cam that dumps early, even if it is rated 10-1 or higher, the dumping sooner helps any pinging problem. A 496 with decent flowing heads(ovals, not peanut) will allow...

    1974 gmc suburban 4 speed

I have seen more than a few with a 4 sp granny gear box. They were used for heavy trailers mastlet before od autos came out. But the ones I have seen were all in 3/4 ton units.

I would imagine that that one was special order

    88 Burb, 350 w/ 700R

Make sure to keep it out of OD when towing. It can get real espensive.

    What to do?

I remember reading that hooking up the Cummins to the 4l80e means problems with the electrical to the trans, but I think there is a fix, but it is always expensive.

    Weird hesitation issue

Be sure to replace that little piece of hose if you do go into the tank.

87 R10 TBI injectors will not spray

Have you checked fuel supply and pressure? A sitting truck can have all types of problem with fuel and load up the filter. The sock over the pickup tube could be compromised. Allowing the pump to pressure up may allow for spray, but not continus spray.

    K10 w/ 327 needs new trans?

If you have the trans with the Hurst shifter, it should be worth rebuilding, and definatly will be worth something as a core. I have never seen one, living in the home of the EPA, ca, I wouldn't imagine they were legal here(that would allow you to get the rpm of the engine up over what they like).

Does '79 windshield fit '84 truck?

There are many atvantages of running a mast antenna. I hate the embedded ones.

    K10 w/ 327 needs new trans?

I don't think that a truck type 4 speed will be the same length as a car 4 sp. It you put in a car type 4 speed(or 3 speed) you should run an aftermarket shifter and you might have to fashion something to extend the handle, unless you have long arms.
