    Lowering a 1984 silverado

Tetanus has 2" spindles and 3" springs up front, and a flip in the rear. Gonna raise the front an inch because it hits the inners as you turn....

I bought a 1984 and don’t know what to do???

A very small percentage. Federal 55 speed limit was in place from 1974-1987. Regardless, I understand what you and others are saying, I just don't agree. Ultimately the op is gonna do what he's gonna do, he sought opinions and I gave him mine.

I bought a 1984 and don’t know what to do???

I mean, I don't know how to saddle or shoe a horse either, because technology... I totally get that some folks like carbs more, but I'm old enough to have been driving when automakers transitioned over to injection from carbs and it's superior in every way. Regarding your claim about 100 mph...

I bought a 1984 and don’t know what to do???

Lol. You're funny. A non overdrive tranny means more engine wear for a given speed as you well know. Fuel injection is better for a street driven cruiser, and if youve driven anything newer than a square then you know that as well. It's ok to be wrong.

I bought a 1984 and don’t know what to do???

I guess if you want to drive everywhere at 55, never get on the interstate, and fight starting it in the cold or hot they're not needed, but fuel injection and overdrive make driving easier and more convenient. That's why modern vehicles have them.

I bought a 1984 and don’t know what to do???

Figure out your budget (then add 50%, trust me) then figure out what you want it to do, then research how to make it do that for your budget. As mentioned it doesn't need to be LS swapped, but for a reliable fun cruiser fuel injection and overdrive are a must, and it'll need gears since you're...

Increased Cooling with Electric Fan and Electric Water Pump

Running the fan after the engine is shut down without also running the water pump is pointless. All you're doing is cooling what's in the radiator.

How to Install Slosh Tubz on Square Body - Mild Tubs with A/C 73-87 C10

I'm curious to see how these hold up. We use trailer fenders on square and OBS trucks, not as pretty, but steel and way cheaper.

6.2 For A Daily Driver? What Are The Downsides?

Back when I drove trucks for a living a concrete company I worked for had one in a dump truck. Every now and then I'd have to drive it, and they do sound great for like 20 minutes. But listening to one screaming up hills delivering rock with the windows down for a 12 hour work day makes that...

6.2 For A Daily Driver? What Are The Downsides?

Better? Not sure about that. Different? Yes. Louder? Most definitely. Old timers used to say that the way to get ready to drive a truck with a Detroit in it was to slam the door on your fingers before you started it. That way you wouldn't notice your head hurting...

Only thing I'll add is to suggest you go drive one before you buy. The lack of power is staggering.

6.2 For A Daily Driver? What Are The Downsides?

I hate 6.2's and their impotent progeny, the 6.5. I had a 6.5, and a 6.2 with 6.5 heads and turbo. Bad experiences with both soured me on diesels in general. That said, they have fans and decent support, and if you want good mileage, and are willing to accept that you are not ever going to have...

What have you done to your square lately??

It doesn't. I mentioned it in my intro thread, but it probably deserves it's own. Bittersweet, I bought it from the widow of a good friend, and honestly after the wheel bearing it needs it's at the bottom of my list to fix up, but I'll start a thread on it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Dropped the ass end of the Durrty Thurrty another inch. Still too high, may pull the overload. I don't want to flip the axle because the front is as low as I can go on the 19.5's and I like them.
